Cottage
Little Shiplake is a self contained converted cattle barn with one double bedroom and a double sofa bed in the lounge. It has a fully fitted kitchen and a fully fitted bathroom with walk in shower. It is set in 17 acres at the foot of the South downs, in the beautiful village of Laughton which has its own shop, church, school and pub. It has its own private garden and any children visiting are more than welcome to meet our 4 chickens that live on site, unfortunately our ponies are no longer with us. There is a TV and internet access, plenty of parking and the opportunity to walk through all our fields and our woodland at the bottom of the paddocks.

The property is mainly flat, just one small step in the front door so it is good for older people. Great for kids as they can interact with the chickens. For special occasions I can fit one blow up mattress on the floor if 5 people are staying

Calm and relaxing.
Our 3rd visit. A lovely little bolthole. Great for visiting, walking the South Downs and sea swimming. Sam remains a great and very accommodating host.

Great accommodation and location.
Lovely clean self-contained space in a beautiful setting close to The Downs, Charleston House and Glynde Opera House....and many other places of interest. Will be going back to explore some more, Sam was a great host and provided a tip top breakfast ( optional) and local pub The Roebuck a 5 min walk for an evening meal if you fancy.

Great location
Great location for visiting South Downs and coastal areas. Good standard of accommodation adjacent to stables with private garden. Main road traffic quiet at night. Sounds of horses hooves and church bells in the morning was just lovely. Friendly, helpful owner close by.

Lovely, comfortable place to stay
This was a great place for a few days away. It had everything we needed and Sam was very helpful and friendly. The bluebells in the wood at the bottom of the field were absolutely beautiful in the spring sunshine!

Ideal base.
Excellent bolt hole for 2 people (I would not like to be in a party of four!) with everything you need and a very good kitchen and bathroom. Perfect as a base. Sofa bed made for a comfortable night, but was not terribly comfortable as sofa.

Great base for the South Coast
We had a great stay here last summer. Used it as a base to explore along the coast. We went to Lewes Priory, Glyndebourne, Newhaven Fort, Seaford, Eastbourne, Middle Farm, paddle-boarding at Cuckmere ... Our daughter loved being close to the horses and getting the chance to ride. Nice pub just over the road. Thanks Sam!

Comfortable and well located
Very pleasant, spotless, comfortable accommodation for two in a great location for exploring the beautiful East Sussex area. Two observations/suggestions: 1. An additional small arm chair 2. Larger TV screen.
