Castle Mews is a hidden gem of a cottage, at the end of a short row of cottages tucked away down a gated passageway, right in the heart of the lovely market town of Cirencester. In Roman times Cirencester was known as “Corinium”, when it was the second largest town in Britain, a history that is celebrated in its local museum. Nowadays, Cirencester is the largest town in the Cotswolds, enabling it to support a wide range of pubs, restaurants and shops, all housed in beautiful honey-coloured Cotswold stone buildings. The town is surrounded by stunning countryside and beautiful Cotswold villages, as well as being an ideal base for visiting further afield places, such as Bath, Oxford or even a day trip into London. This traditional half-timbered cottage has many character features, including oak beams, ledge and brace doors, and exposed wall timbers. The character of the cottage is complemented by its modern facilities, including wireless internet access, a small flatscreen TV and a well presented kitchen. Castle Mews sleeps a maximum of two people, in one bedroom, with a lovely bathroom, and there are courtyard gardens to both the front and the rear of the property. Car parking is available in either on-street metered parking bays, or a number of nearby car parks. This beautiful cottage is perfect for a couple looking for a relaxing break in the heart of one of England’s nicest market towns. House Rules Security deposits Security deposits are not required (please note that guests are still liable for any damage or additional cleaning required as a result of their actions). Occupancy The maximum occupancy of the property is two guests, at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than two guests at the property. Regrettably, babies and children are not accepted. Pets Regrettably, pets are not accepted. Bed sizes and configurations Bedroom (1st floor): King size bed Bathrooms Bathroom (1st floor): Bath with overhead shower, toilet and wash basin Heating, fuel and logs The property has a gas central heating system. Electricity and gas are included in the rental price. Services provided The property has free wireless internet access and a SMART TV with DVD player. There is no telephone at the property. Mobile phone reception is variable, typically being better outside the property than inside. Parking The property is set back approximately 20 metres from the road. Guests can park on the road to unload their luggage, although cars should not be left unattended. Cars must then be parked in one of a number of local car parks or parking bays nearby. Parking is typically free in the evening, early morning and on Sundays, but must be paid for at other times. The cheapest long stay car park is a half a mile walk along Cirencester’s picturesque main street. Housekeeping Where a letting exceeds nine nights, a mid-stay clean, bed linen and towel change may be included in the price. Please check with us to confirm. Additional housekeeping services may be available on request. Children Regrettably, babies and children are not accepted. Accessibility, health and safety The property has two floors, which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, or carrying babies, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency. The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.More

Really can't fault this cottage. Great location within a few minutes walk of many bars, pubs and restaurants. Short drive to many beautiful towns etc. The cottage was lovely and clean on our arrival with some welcome nibbles.

About the neighbourhood
The attractive market town of Cirencester is the largest town in the Cotswold District. It is the home of the Royal Agricultural University, the oldest agricultural college in the English-speaking world, founded in 1840. Cirencester was known to be an important early Roman area, when it was called Corinium, and the town's Corinium Museum is well known for its extensive Roman collection.
Getting around
The Cotswolds is a rural location and whilst there is access to public transport, it is highly recommended that you have a car.
