Or try some of Tetbury or Malmesbury's many exciting bistros, restaurants and pubs.
-With an enclosed south- facing garden and barbecue facilities next to the ancient moat under Doughton's 17th century manor house, you will lose yourselves in time while on holiday here.
In the house we keep descriptions and maps of short and longer walks, whether across the fields to the local pub or, after a short drive, to gaze across the Severn estuary into Wales
The house is on a farm and separated from existing listed cotswold stone buildings by its own front garden to the north, and enclosed walled garden to the south. It looks over the ancient water moat after which 'Doughton' [old english for 'Duck Farm' ] was named.
The farm is part of stewardship schemes to encourage wildlife and there are singing birds in abundance, and, if you get up early, you could see deer, foxes and hares. We also have horses, pigs and egg-laying chickens.

Peaceful family friendly home oozing character and charm
The beautiful homely home was perfect for our family of 8. A family member with mobility issues enjoyed the purpose built bedroom and ensuite. Picture perfect Cotswold location. Sue was a kind and caring host. Thanks so much

Cosy in the Cotswolds
Had a lovely short break here, communication with the owners was easy, they were very accommodating and we had a lovely apple and blackberry crumble waiting for us on arrival - it was delicious thankyou 😀.
Had lots of walks from the house and plenty of nice places to visit and eat nearby.

Wonderful location for group reunion.
Booked both barns, Pantiles and Dovecote, and we spent much of our time in the large communal area of Pantiles, which is a lovely space for communal eating and socialising. The barns are very well equipped, quiet and comfortable. The location was excellent for riding our bikes in the hills of the Cotswolds and the short walk in Tetbury for coffee, cake and stocking up.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful area
I stayed at the Pantiles in July with a group of friends and we all had a great time. The photos really don't do it justice! The living area is very large and open, making for a great social space. Access into Bath is good and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. Special thanks to Sue for baking an incredible Victoria Sponge and also kindly offering to help us out when we were struggling to find a taxi when departing! (Thankfully not needed). I would highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful place for a celebration
Rented both the Pantiles and Dovecote Cottage (Doughton Cottages) to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday with the family. Everything was perfect - the location, the accommodation, the friendly owners - even the weather. The accommodation was modern, spotlessly clean, spacious and very well presented. Would thoroughly recommend the cottages for any large (or even not so large) get together or just a holiday

The perfect work retreat
This was the perfect work retreat for us. A lovely get away in beautiful surroundings. Lots of great walks. The barn itself was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. It was great to have a good work space around the table and then to be able to relax on the sofas in front of the fire. The owners were brilliant and we thoroughly enjoyed the bonfire evening. The upstairs shower wasn't working very well and Sue called a plumber out within half an hour to fix it - very much appreciated. Thank you! We will be returning.

Spectacular property
Our weekend away with a large group for my husbands 30th birthday was made ever so special and perfect with the stay we had here at the long barn. The barn is so beautiful and ever so spacious, making it comfortable for each and every one of us. The owners of the property I couldn't thank enough. They were so helpful and accomadating. I would definately recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

Large open plan living area makes it ideal for a family gathering
Booked for a 90th birthday celebration. We needed somewhere which could accommodate the immediate family - yet provide enough room for a large family gathering. The open plan living area and large dining table proved ideal. We were able to seat 19 guests in comfort.
The ground floor bedroom, with en suite wet room, was ideal for our elderly parents. The only thing missing was a toilet suitable for disabled people (i.e. with grab rails) so we brought our own frame.
The Pantiles is comfortable, welcoming and private. We enjoyed the tranquil, rural, location. The property has all the basic facilities - although we would have appreciated the addition of a tumble dryer and larger freezer.
Everyone, enjoyed their visit to The Pantiles. Sue, the owner, provided a delicious cake to welcome us all and was keen to ensure we had everything we needed to make the most of our stay.
This is a lovely property and I have no hesitation in recommending it for those looking for a relaxing place to stay - literally a stone's throw from Highgrove and the National Arboretum.

Thanks for helpful review
We are considering a tumble dryer though the boiler room is very efficient for drying.

Lovely
Such a beautiful location, set away from the huddle and bustle of Tetbury and the surrounding towns. It's easily directed from all ways into and out of the village of Doughton. It's spacious and comfortably fitting to large parties. Every detail has been thought through from plug sockets by every bed, to a full kitchen stocked with utensils and everything a full kitchen should be equipped with.
Would recommend for a family party or gathering! Thank you!!

Beautiful buildings and farmland combine easily around these two 2 market towns which are less than 10 minutes from Doughton. 40 minutes away is either Bath, Bristol, or Cheltenham. Each very popular for shopping ,sight -seeing,concerts and theatre, but each also has something unique: Cheltenham, its famous racing festival in March, Bristol, the SS Great Britain and wonderful children's museums (@Bristol) and Bath, the newly refurbished Roman Baths and tea rooms made famous by Jane Austen's novels.
The National Arboretum at Westonbirt [3 mins drive] is a wonderful place to spend the day in every season of the year.
Visit the Abbey Gardens in Malmesbury, wonderful in late summer and autumn and the Badminton International Horse Trials[10 minutes drive] are held in the grounds of the Duke of Beaufort's well- run country estate, in May.
