What can I say..... with us being parents to 3, having time to ourselves in the shepherds retreat in shear peacefulness was completely needed.
The little breakaway was a present for my partners birthday, on arrival there was a birthday banner hanging above the window and 2 cup cakes, one with a happy birthday plaque. I am also gluten intolrent and the cake I had was gluten free.
Attention to detail was perfect.
I highly recommend shepherds retreat.
Having the stream running past the bedroom window was so relaxing, we sat outside, overlooking the pond reading our books, which is something we never have time for at home.
We will 100% be returning.
Thank you for such lovely and relaxing break away.

Lovely!
This Is the second time we have stayed at Suzanne and Danny’s. The first time we stayed in the annex and loved it so thought we would try the shepherds hut. We absolutely loved it. It’s surprisingly spacious, Surrounded by bird song and a pleasure to stay in. We had everything we needed for a weekend stay, cooker, bathroom and welcome cake!! We will be back to stay in the woodland lodge next year for sure! Suzanne and Danny are an absolute please to stay with and really lovely people to boot!

Amazing experience in a cute little shepherd's hut with homely essentials. Thank you for the home-made cakes on arrival! A great chance to relax and also walk around the delights of the Malvern Hills. Perfect place to return for some peace and quiet. Suzanne and Danny were amazing hosts. Definitely would recommend and hoping to return! x

Wonderful rural spot to stay at,so quiet beautiful.
Owners have made a very special place here and treat their guests wonderfully.
The Ducks and ducklings were a wonderful surprise, as was the duck food provided in the hut for our pleasure to feed them .

Perfect relaxing retreat
Had a wonderful 4 night stay in this comfortable and cosy little hut in beautiful wooded gardens. Great for bird and wildlife watching, and a great location for picturesque walks. Only a mile from Ledbury with its lovely shops, cafes and pubs. The perfect location to escape all the current world worries. The hosts Suzanne and Danny are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Glamping in a Glade
We had a wonderful week staying in the ‘small but perfectly formed’ shepherds hut in the grounds of Massington Lodge, Suzanne & Danny were very warm and friendly and we had a lovely (socially distanced) chat as we were unpacking; they gave us lots of helpful tips on the best breakfast/Scotch eggs/ice cream in Ledbury, as well as good walks and secret parking tips 😉. We loved the homemade cakes (in tiny teacups - sweet!) in the welcome basket ❤️ and the local apple juice was much appreciated too.
The small but well-appointed galley kitchen has a 3-ring gas stove/grill/oven, pans/plates/cutlery, and a pull down table. I didn’t brave the oven but we managed some lovely stews 😋. I liked the built in double bed and it was nice having a window next to the bed so you can enjoy birdsong and a gentle breeze with your cosy lie-in. We really enjoyed the fire pit too - gin & applejuice + campfire + nature, bliss!!
Having never used a caravan toilet before, i was a little surprised by the ‘arrangements’ initially but once Suzanne explained how it worked it was easy to get the hang of.
Unfortunately, i had to leave a day early due to work, but Danny very kindly took Phil’s bag to the station for him when he left (they’re lovely people, and i think if it wasn’t for COVID & social distancing he’d have given Phil a lift too but we were all being careful)
💯would recommend (but please don’t book the week we want 😉😉)

Cozy, warm and romantic
We have spent perfect 5 days in the shepherds hut, enjoying the beautiful scenery, great food, super comfy bed, well equipped kitchen and bathroom.
Hidden between the trees, fields and hills at a walking distance from the charming market town of Ledbury, this little gem of a hut offers everything that you need for a perfect countryside getaway (and it's only 1 hour away from Birmingham by train!).
Many public footpaths (and Suzanne's detailed maps and notes) offer easy access to Malvern hills, Eastnor with its park and castle and many other country walks.
We really enjoyed our breakfast basket filled with lovely croissants, delicious cake and fresh duck eggs and tranquil evenings by the fire.
Suzanne and Danny have been absolutely perfect hosts always full of humor and happy to help with any of our needs. We can't wait to meet them again, because we definitely are going back to the hut :)
Heaven on earth!

Perfect hosts and delightful stay
The shepherd’s hut is ideal for a quiet retreat into countryside, with excellent walks and wonderful views, but with the advantage of the small market town of Ledbury only a short distance away with all amenities and places to eat.
The bed is one of the comfiest I have ever slept in!
This was a return booking and I would book again without hesitation.

An absolute Escape To The Country.
Firstly to say that we learned about Suzanne and Danny from watching I Escaped To The Country, and our reactions to the house in that lovely setting and being so close to the Malverns, gave us that very same feeling they had when they first saw the place. The setting is absolutely beautiful and calm. You are close to Ledbury which is a 45 minute walk, and if you are up to it, you can walk from the Hut to the Eastnor Deer Park, Castle and the Malverns. More importantly, the greeting from Suzanne and Danny was excellent giving us all the information we needed to have our own perfect Escape to The Country. The Shepard's Hut had all the facilities required for the 3 nights we were there and very neatly compacted and delightful. After a short while we had the living routine down pat and we were comfortably living in the hut. If the weather suits you can sit outside in the evenings, watching the wildlife whilst having a BBQ (bring your own coals) and in addition you can light your own fire pit and stare at the flickering flames until late into the quietness of night. The woodland area around the house provides shelter from any wind, but not so thick as to hide the sun when its out. It has been an absolute delight to stay in The Shepards Hut and I can say that we will remember it for a very long time to come, and we will be back. This, in our view is highly recommended. Thanks again to Suzanne and Danny, we already feel like we have known them for years.

Relaxing Retreat
My wife Linda and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Shepherd's Retreat at Massington Lodge. It was such that we wished we were staying longer and by the time we got home, wished we were back!
The accommodation was great; small but cosy and just right for two 'glampers'. Suzanne and Danny were great hosts and very welcoming; ensuring that everything was ok for us.
We would thoroughly recommend a stay with them.
