Our visit to Elk Cottage was idyllic; the cottage itself deserved its 5 Star rating as everything was perfect and the attention to detail was superb! The location was ideal for a quiet retreat and the information on the recommended walks etc was extremely helpful.More

Leave the M6 Motorway at J40 sign posted Penrith

At the roundabout take the A66 exit heading East towards Appleby/Scotch Corner

After 0.9 miles at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A686 sign posted Alston

After approx 5 miles you will reach the metal bridge, over the bridge is the village of Langwathby turn left onto Salkeld Rd

Continue on Salkeld Road for approx 5 miles towards the village of Glassonby

When you enter the village of Glassonby turn right after the children's playground and as the road bears right you will find Elk Cottage elevated on the right.
