Neighbourhood Greenwich is home to architectural splendour, forested parks, rich maritime history, and popular antiques markets. Victorian and Georgian buildings lend the neighbourhood a rustic opulence and, often, a village feel. Here are some neighbourhood tips... The Old Brewery is a historic working microbrewery as well as a restaurant, café and bar. Visitors can indulge in a variety of homemade dishes whilst their refreshments are brewed right in front of them! The Fan Museum is worth a visit - it is the only one of its kind in the UK and has some fans dating back to the 12th Century! Afterwards, enjoy a cup of tea in the beautiful Orangery, their unique garden room. Greenwich Park is the place to be if the weather is nice. It has incredible views of London and lots of lovely green space, cafes and even a wilderness deer park! Discover what life was like on board Cutty Sark, the world’s only surviving tea clipper, and fastest ship of her time. Built in 1869, this is a proper piece of history right on your doorstep. Those with a sweet tooth won’t be disappointed by the gelato on offer at Black Vanilla - salted caramel, white mint, coconut and black cherry to name just a few of the delicious flavours on offer. Eltham Palace and Gardens is an old, unused Royal Residence once occupied by a young Henry VIII. Inside the National Heritage site, elegant Art Deco and wondrous medieval compositions marvel together Tudor history and 1930s designs. The beautiful 19 acres of gardens include plants, flowers and pools of water free-falling in the moat. A café and play area is on offer, and events also run throughout the year. A lovely day out. Greenwich market, famous for being London’s only market set inside a World Heritage site, is a bustling and exciting thing to experience. The food market has every cuisine imaginable - eat your way through the delicious offerings! For traditional London-style pie and mash, you couldn’t get much better than Goddard’s at Greenwich. Established in 1890, the shop has been in the Goddard family ever since. Their homely and freshly made meat and fruit pies are some of the very best in London and cheap too! For a great pub, head to The Gipsy Moth - undoubtedly one of the the best located pubs in London, overlooking the iconic Cutty Sark ship and the Thames. They do terrific food too. Cafe Mama Pho does incredible Vietnamese food - their broth takes 12 hours to make, and it is worth every minute! The Brasserie * the National Maritime Museum offers brilliant food and even better views, if the weather is nice! Check the weather and ask for a table by the window. Transit Westcombe Park station is just a 7 minute walk away from the apartment. The train here can get you to London Bridge in only 13 minutes! Exploring London could hardly be easier. Bus 129 frMore
