Ideal to bring your dog/s along too as we are pet friendly and surrounded by scenic traffic free woods (you cannot hear any road noise here, just the birds in the wood) and fields to walk in and its just £15 per dog stay. House Rules
Pets Allowed: Yes
Smoking Allowed: Ask
Kid Friendly: Yes
Not many rules but a couple of requests. The accommodation is not suitable for pre school children due to the stairwell straight off the upper bedroom (no landing). Do please leave the accommodation as you would wish to find it. We try to recycle as much as we can and request our guests to try and do likewise and for our canine guests we ask that they get their human to pop their deposits in our little doggy loo after they’ve been out running around and enjoying our safe enclosed gardens.

Probably nice in summer. However there are no mountain views and there is no secluded garden. There is a large shared garden, with a gate at the bottom which is approximately 50 metres away and often left open. There was no greeting by the owners...More

About the neighbourhood
Whats our guests repeatedly find so amazing about the little hilltop farm where we live, is even though it feels like you are a million miles from the hustle and bustle of nomal daily life (no traffic noise!!).... we aren't! There is the Park & Ride facility into York city centre just 15 minutes drive away. There is even a bus service to York and a host of local eateries within 5-15 minutes drive.
Getting around
The area is very popular with cyclists with road race events held on the roads around here almost weekly in the summer months, so do bring your bike. There is a bus route into York and to Castle Howard and the bus stop is just a half a mile from the property. Otherwise, bring your walking boots as there are plenty of relatively easy walks in the rolling hillsides of the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that the accommodation is situated in.
