A wonderful hidden gem of a destination, it offers the perfect base for those wanting to experience Northumberland at its very best.

Originally built in 1820, the property has been updated to provide stylish and accommodation for up to 4 guests, whilst retaining its traditional Northumbrian character.

The Northumberland National Park is located in the county of Northumberland in north east England. Designated a national park back in 1956, the area is known for its scenic landscapes, tranquillity, remoteness, charming small towns and villages and for Hadrian’s Wall world heritage site located in the south of the national park. It offers an excellent choice of walks with more than 600 miles of way marked footpaths and bridleways to explore.

Northumberland is the least populated of the national parks and enjoys feeling of calm and tranquillity to it, with some of the finest scenery in England. Ferry: Port of Tyne: 65.0 km
From A1 after Morpeth take A697 North (Rothbury/Wooler). Leave A697 and take either B6341 or B6344 to Rothbury/Cragside. From Rothbury, go through town, driving West 8 miles, passing through villages of Thropton and Sharperton, entering the National Park. When you reach Harbottle village, the cottage is easy to find on the right side.
