A great family holiday
Julie and Ray, the barge's owners, were nothing short of fabulous in terms of passing information, providing a beautiful, clean, well laid out, 5 star barge of barges ( thoughtfully laid out with with all the things you may need including a welcome hamper). We were total novices and Ray was so helpful in showing us the ropes - literally ! Both were also on hand to help and took a couple of hours out of their Sunday when we ran into a little trouble. Their kindness made our holiday. The biggest thank you.

Far and away the best narrow boat hire you can get
Having been on some other narrow boats there are many things that make On the wey boats perfect. 1. Julie and Ray are so friendly and helpful, if anything goes wrong they come straight along to sort it out. 2. The boats are very comfortable so you actually get some sleep (unlike many boats which have rock hard beds). 3. The layout is really practical - again, compared to other boats everything has been thought of to make the layout work. 4. Everything is provided - from cushions for the front to every item a kitchen needs.

Simply Perfect
One of the best holidays we have had. Box of Delights is true to its name, Delightful. Extremely well equipped, and the welcome hamper was such a lovely gesture. The peace and tranquility of this break was so welcomed in such difficult times. Julie and Ray are very professional, helpful and friendly. Cannot speak highly enough of On the Wey Narrowboat Hire. Can’t wait to go again.

Wonderful family break
We had a wonderful family break on "Box of Delights". Everything was excellent from start to finish. We were all complete novices but had nothing to worry about. We were given all the guidance we needed to set off confidently including help with the first lock . The boat itself was beautifully presented and really spacious for a family of four. The welcome pack was a nice surprise. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Wey Navigation and part of the Thames. The countryside was beautiful and varied and we enjoyed mooring at pubs and different parts of the towpath to explore. It's hard to think what could be improved. Highly recommended.

After numerous other boating holidays an unrivalled experience, the 3 newbies of us are so content, we didn't miss it!
Arriving from the Continent, we enjoyed after all still an unproblematic entrance via LHR, T5, followed by a swift bus and train transfer to the base, where the really warm welcome ended up with the comprehensive, yet also easily understandable tuition and briefing, which eventually led us into the first lock downstream, we coped with in a stress-free way, as advised by Ray in a perfect laid back manner. Thanks! Later on it was big fun, especially all the unmanned locks of the Wey Navigation. Pressing buttons in the "self service" River Thames' locks was quite different and visiting Windsor is doable, provided you are aware of the "Gift" encircling you. Smiley!

Box of Delights
The River Wye meanders through a beautiful part of the country which changes constantly from meadows to woods and urban areas. We ventured onto the Thames which was surprisingly quiet for this time of year. Box of Delights is well appointed and very comfortable. We slept 5 easily, and varied between meals on board and pub meals. Thoroughly recommended.

Wow! These guys get a 10/10 for providing fantastic holiday
We hired 'Box of Delights', a 60ft narrowboat for two weeks and were really impressed. Not only were we given a through walk through at the start, by Julie & Ray (the owners) along with them being on the end of a phone to answer any calls should we require further guidance. This narrowboat is fully equipped and offers all you would require to go off and enjoy yourselves come rain if shine. From a flushing toilet and a power shower (with plenty of hot water) through to a fully fitted galley with all you could ask for on a two week cruise along the picturesque river/canal. The onboard heating kept us nice and toasty as well as a traditional wood burning stove. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for making this a holiday perfect 😊

A novices weekend
Four complete novice guys aged 41, 58, 65 and 71 took on a weekend on Box of Delights. We worked out a route north to Addlestone with 3 nightime stopovers. We were given a comprehensive instruction including accompaniment to the first lock. We had a fantastic weekend which was a learning curve and where we made the odd mistake, we found other barge users extremely helpful and friendly. The barge was like a long caravan but with everything you could possibly need. Just poodling along the river was very calming and relaxing and by the end, we were getting through the locks quite professionally. Well almost. Wonderful weekend.

Fantastic Family Holiday!
We hired both of Julie's beautiful narrow boats (box of delights and stepping stones). There was 9 of us in total. We had an AMAZING time. We were showed how to do the first lock and then left to meander along the river. None of us had done this before but we picked it up quickly. We visited the Anchor pub (where we moored up for the first night) The Pelican, Addlestone and The New Inn, Send. All very welcoming. We reached the River Thames and went around the island and journeyed back to Guildford. It was so relaxing! The boats were very clean and had all the amenities we needed. Thank you again for such a memorable experience! Highly recommend.
