Welcome to our 1930s Duplex apartment, with views of the Quayside. 12 minutes walk from the train station. Decorated with lots of antiques and artworks. One of the bedrooms has a balcony. There is fresh ground coffee and tea if you fancy a cuppa :-) The Space A very well built 1930s top floor, two floored apartment with real wooden floors throughout. South facing with lots of nice light and a sunset if you are lucky. All the furnishing are 20th century antiques. It has lots of art dotted around. There is a TV in one of the bedrooms but it is not hooked up to a TV aerial. The apartment has two double bedrooms one with a balcony attached to it, which you have full access too. Fudge (the little dog) won't be home during your stay. The entrance is located at the back of the building, next to an Indian restaurant on Howard Street. The only rooms that will be locked/out of bounds is my office and my son's bedroom. You wont been missing much, just lots of paperwork and children's toys. Interaction with Guests I have lived in the North East all my life. If you have any questions before, during or after your stay, I'm more than happy to help. I know all the good and bad places to drink, eat, shop and so on... I will usually be staying across the road when you're here, so I will be on call if you need me for anything. The Neighbourhood Newcastle is fantastic and there is so much to do and take in. We are located right next to the Quayside. Take in the galleries, bars, music venues and much more or take a short walk into town to take in what the city has to offer. At the top of the street, there are about 5 busses that take you straight into the centre of town in about 3-5 minutes. They run until about 11.30pm and because there are so many, you will not be waiting long. The quayside is also great for cocktails and the Sunday market has lots on nice tasty food and things to purchase. Buuuut the best thing about our apartment is you,re right next to the Ouseburn Valley. The Ouseburn hosts the seven best pubs in town. It also has The Ouseburn Farm and Seven Stories (great for children), The Tower Cafe (the best handmade pizzas in town) and the Ouseburn Coffee Company, where you can get freshly ground coffee to take home. There are also many art galleries in this area. Getting Around We are about 12 mins fast walk from central station. There are busses that take you all over the city, just from the top of our road. Newcastle has it's very own underground system called the metro. It's a great way to get to the coast and have a day out at the beach. The closest stop to the apartment is called manors (2min walk) away. If you using a taxi, use Blueline or Geordie Taxis. Other Things to Note The flat is located in a permit only area. I have one visitors pass available that can be used for free. Please make sure that you return this before you leave and please let me know before hand if you need to use it. Without one it it costs £1 per hour to park, 8am-6.30pm. There are other free places to park (street parking) about a 15-20 minutes walk from the flat. I also have a dog (she will not be there when you stay) but I feel it is best to note this in case of a severe allergy. More
