Home away from home
This was our second stay at May Lodge and we have another stay booked there in Dec, that should tell you everything you need to know! We love this place, very comfortable with great facilities and perfect location, close to the water for walks along the beach. It has become our home away from home in Belfast, we could easily live there! We actually got married while staying here with the bridal party getting ready and leaving from May Lodge. We couldn't have asked for better and the host was very friendly and accomadating. Highly recommended.

Lovely, calming accommodation in a whole home, in a great quiet location.
We stayed end of July/beginning of August 2021 and it was exactly as shown in the pictures. The whole place was wonderfully calm, peaceful and furnished to a really good standard. There are two bathrooms, one of which is a large wet room en-suite to the main bedroom with great shower. The other has a bath and shower. To the back of the property is a nice little patio area with a view over the grounds behind, out to Belfast Lough. To the side of the property is a lovely ornamental garden with large pond and a large stone picnic table and benches - this is available for use by May Lodge guests - and gets the sun a lot of the day. Perfect! The property itself is on a small quiet cul-de-sac, off a roundabout, on the main road between Belfast and Carrickfergus. We were a little concerned the traffic noise of the main road would be a problem but barely noticed any noise the whole time, and certainly none with the windows closed. We were very pleased with the whole property and it's in a great location for a walk along Belfast lough or accessing Belfast etc.

Excellent vacation rental
This is such a lovely home! We loved our stay here. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The beds were so comfy! Probably some of the best sleep I've had in a very long time. We loved the coffee maker so much we bought one when we got home. The owner left a sleeve of coffee pods, milk and a lemon cake. This was a very nice touch since we arrived so late in the evening, we didn't have time to pick those items up. We visited in the winter and the grounds were lovely. I bet it's stunning in the spring and summer. You can see the water from the master bedroom window. After long days of sightseeing, it was such a nice, comfy place to return home to.

Lovely place, very cosy
May Lodge was great. Very clean, well laid out, nice visitor touches like the welcome pack. It is three bedrooms that can sleep six. You might feel it is a little bit of a squeeze for six but it worked for us.

Perfect place to stay and enjoy the sights of Belfast
This was a perfect home away from home while visiting Belfast. With the "welcome gift", a well stocked kitchen, extremely comfortable beds and bedding, great showers and bathroom facilities, and a wonderful view of the Lough we could not have asked for anything more. Our host Rosemary went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. If we are lucky enough to make a return trip to Belfast we will be sure to stay at May Lodge.

Ideal family holiday home for Belfast
Well equipped holiday home, as other reviewers have said just 15 mins from Belfast by car. Local train service nearby too. We used it as a base for Belfast and trips out to Giants causeway, Newcastle and Mount Stewart. Recommended

Terrific house
3 generations of family......5 of us and we loved this house. Very clean and comfortable. Very well equipped. A home from home. May lodge is in a great location to visit several interesting places so near to it. The whiteabbey train station is close by and easy to go to. Just a short trip and you are in belfast city ( off peak fares are very cheap). A short drive to Carrickfergus castle which is terrific. A short drive to the zoo too. Check it all out. I would recommend this accomodation very highly.

Superb place to stay for exploring Northern Ireland.
One of the best equipped houses I have ever stayed in, from the food processor in the kitchen to the walk-in shower in the ensuite bathroom and the goosedown pillows on comfortable beds. Very well located for the train to Belfast and beyond, as well as exploring the Causeway coast.

A five star property that feels like home
We have stayed at May lodge twice now and both times found it to be an excellent experience. This time we arrived at Christmas, and our young children were very excited to find that the house had been fully decorated for our arrival. Once again Rosemary and John made us feel welcome at a home away from home. The house provides five star quality accommodation with every need catered for. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Excellent accommodation, very well equipped and tastefully furnished.
We had stayed in May Lodge 3 years ago and liked it very much then. The recent refurbishment is a great success and has enhanced this lovely property. The new en suite facilities and decked area which commands fine views of Belfast Lough are great additions. There is great attention to detail throughout the property. We have also stayed at the Coach House round the corner (which we always have loved) and in common with that property, May Lodge has all the advantages of being very conveniently located as a centre for exploring Belfas/ district and beyond, being at the start of the Causeway Coastal Route in one direction and about 10-15 minutes from Belfast in the other via the M5/M2. Rosemary and John are the most thoughtful and friendly hosts you are ever likely to meet. You won't be disappointed if you stay there!
