Additional amenities & feature info
Mill Cottage, part of Tobermoney Mill Village dating back to 1650 was sensitively restored in 2004 with reclaimed materials including beautifully restored wooden flooring from the Guinness brewery at St James gate Dublin. It is a large cottage which is built from local field stone and lime mortar and is full of original features including Georgian sash windows and deep window sills, stone kitchen floor and a spinning wheel mirror. The kitchen has a large farmhouse kitchen, cosy Esse cooker - terrific for cooking on, granite worktops above a hand crafted reclaimed oregan pine kitchen and a sofa to relax on while waiting for the dinner to cook ! Fully equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and good quality utensils. - The living room is spacious and tastefully furnished with a full bookcase, children's books, videos and games. Two comfortable settees surround original hobgrate fireplace - perfect for a log fire. The scullery has granite worktop above the washing machine and tumble dryer concealed behind hand crafted cupboards lit by original White Star Line lamps. The bathroom is well equipped with an Aqualisa power shower above an enamel bath and is painted lullworth blue after the original colour scheme of the room (Ricketts blue lime wash). The first bedroom has an open fireplace and kingsized bed with a view out to the array of colour in the front cottage garden. - The master bedroom is spacious and airy as it is pitched to the timbered ceiling with a skylight to relax and view the night sky. It includes 3 other windows opening out onto the the cottage garden, the large back garden surrounded by ancient trees and the old mill gable and kiln. The scullery has a small settle and hand built and painted cupboards (concealing a washing machine and tumble dryer). It is lit by original brass lamp fittings as used on the White Star liners and railway coaches reminiscent of the Titanic era.
