This stylish apartment is situated in Edinburgh's historic Old Town. It is within very easy walking distance of all the major tourist attractions including the Palace of Holyrood House ( the Queen's residence when staying in Edinburgh), the new award winning Scottish Parliament and the Royal Mile, containing a thousand years of turbulent Scottish history. The apartment is also perfectly positioned for access to the city's finest parks, particularly the Queen's Park which is approximately 3 minutes walk away and is an outstanding piece of wild highland landscape in the centre of the city.The Queen's Park has Arthur's Seat, (an active volcano about 250 million years ago) at it's centre. This hill rises above the city to a height of 251 metres (823 feet) and the panoramic views from the top are the finest you will find. The walks around the Hill and it's 3 lochs are also outstanding. Whether you are looking for history, nature, culture, fine dining or shopping or a mix of them all, this apartment is in the perfect location for you. The apartment is situated on Calton Road,on the 2nd floor of Buchanan Court. It benefits from it's own secure allocated parking space. Access to the apartment is via an audio entry phone system. The apartment faces east and benefits from delightful views over historic roof tops as well as looking out onto a very old private cobbled courtyard. Opposite are Victorian buildings, tastefully converted into modern apartments. This is a very historic area which was named a World Heritage site in 1995. The apartment offers very comfortable accommodation which consists of a large living area with separate dining space. This room has windows which overlook the courtyard. One of these is a large bay window which has a side view up to the Burns Monument and historic Calton Hill. The room is sufficiently large to accommodate guests for both dining and relaxing. It's furnishings include a large corner sofa and a dining table. The room also has a flat screen television with digital channels and a radio/CD player.To the rear of the lounge is a fully fitted kitchen with a range of appliances and a glazed door leading out to a Parisian balcony. Although not large enough to sit out on, this balcony is delightful and adds character to the kitchen area.The apartment has 2 stylish double bedrooms which both face out onto the courtyard. The master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and a zip/link bed which means that this room has the flexibility of being used as a double room with a super king size bed or as a twin room with 2 single beds. The 2nd double bedroom which is also very light and airy, has a comfortable double bed .Both bedrooms have hairdryers and good quality bed linen. The family bathroom has a 3 piece white suite with a powerful shower fitted over the bath. It has been fitted out in a contemporary style. There is an ample supply of good quality towels provided. The apartment benefits from gas central heating and double glazing. Please note that due to it's size and height restriction, the parking space is suitable for standard size cars only, it will not accommodate large/high vehicles. The apartment is well situated, only 5 minutes from the royal mile. It is spacious and all the furniture and fittings are of high quality. Surprised that there was no soap in the bathroom/toilet. Maybe that was an oversight.

We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. The facilities are great, it is very clean and the info from Liz was spot on. We were only there for a couple of nights but would have been happy to stay there for much longer.
