Easy walk to city, excellent transport links. Flat clean and tidy, comfortable bed and everything we needed. Plenty of places to eat or buy provisions close by.

Located approximately 15 minutes walk from Haymarket train station. Well served by buses from princes Street. Clean well apportioned flat. Sainsburys at bottom of street for essentials. Entertainment venues 5 minutes away including bowling, cinema and trampoline centre. Also frankie and bennys and other restaurants.

Canal Side Apartment is brilliant! My friend and I stayed during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and it was wonderful. Very reasonable rates and Jan is a wonderful host. She was there to meet us and also to say farewell at the end of our trip. I am fussy about where I stay, but this apartment in a traditional Scottish tenement...

About the neighbourhood
Fountainbridge is a vibrant area centred around the historic Union Canal. A great place to stroll along watching the house boats or feeding the ducks, head east towards the Grassmarket, Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile or west towards beautiful Harrison Park, perhaps stopping off for a refreshment in a houseboat cafe. Formally an industrial area, Fountainbridge has been transformed, with the revitalised canal quarter now focussed on leisure and plans for a cultural quarter in the pipeline. There is a wealth of bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes, literally around the corner and a stay in this thriving neighbourhood will give you a real flavour of Edinburgh life.

From the airport take a taxi (£24) or the airport bus or one of Edinburgh's new trams to Haymarket (£3.50 single ticket) then take a taxi or walk to the apartment. If you come by car there is on street metered parking (£1/hour Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm, free at weekends) or there is unrestricted parking less than a mile away where you can safely leave your car for the duration of your stay.
