North Yarrows Cottage is a beautifully situated 18th century crofter's cottage in the far north of Scotland, sitting on the edge of the loch with amazing views across the hills of Yarrows where there is a 2,000 year span of archaeological remains including Brochs and Standing Stones. The cottage comes with fishing and a boat. There is a real wood fire in the sitting room and is centrally heated too. There are two bedrooms, one Double and one Twin . Situated near Wick (lots of excellent restaurants and supermarkets), this cottage is set on the edge of a loch, with no other houses visible. It has it's own boat, though it wasn't there during our stay, and has a brilliant walk through the nearby hills...More

Perfect position to explore the surrounds of Wick. Catherine the owner, was very helpful. The archeological trail, just a short cycle away. Fishing in the evening and early morning around our own private loch. Walking along the cliffs to see puffins and kittiwakes. A lovely...More

About the neighbourhood
Thrumster is a small crofting village south of Wick, we are only 30 mins fro John O'Groats and the Castle of Mey. There is a local pub and a good selection of restaurants in the local area. 5 mins drive to Wick. There are many outdoor activities to be enjoyed and if you like wildflife we have some of the best areas to see and photograph. Our cliffs , sea arches and stacks are close by too
