Peaceful location. Wooded area to the back with stream. Large sunny courtyard to the front (watch out for the axe!). Very weather beaten outdoor seating. Plenty of parking. A short walk to the "hill" (well worth the climb). There is a antiques centre and coffee shop in Rait. Nine of us (6 adults, 3 children) and two small dogs enjoyed...

A great weekend in a quirky cottage set in lovely surroundings. Plenty of room for the 9 of us who stayed for 2 days. Decor eclectic but well suited to the property. Dining table a nice touch allowing us all to eat together in one sitting. Plenty of logs and coal provided for our stay and once we got the...

It was a very nice warm house close to Fingask castle, set in nice quiet surroundings. We loved the real fire place.

About the neighbourhood
Ladywell is at the head of the Glen of Rait, an unspoilt but yet accessible part of Perthshire. Ladywell once was an early monastic site, latterly a possession of Dunkeld Abbey and later still owned by branches of both the Royal Bruces and the Stewarts. Today you can still a number of early Christian carved stones.

The hills around Ladywell offer fantastic walking - you can walk for about 20 miles across the moor at the top of the hills behind the Tower before you come to anything other than a deserted village or empty lochans. At the end of the day you can use the private picnic table situated at the top of Ladywell Hill as a venue for a sundowner - the views from there are fabulous including Schehallion, Dunsinane and, on a clear day, 5 counties!

How to get there
The property is just 15 mins from Perth. Leave Perth driving towards Dundee on M90 . 10 mins fast driving you will see an interchange after an Esso garage, signed for Errol and Rait. Leave M90 at this exit . Head up into the hills toward Rait. Cross over crossroad and head for Rait village.Do not go into Rait but head up the road for 1.3 miles . You will see a white house surrounded by trees on the right. The Tower is just past this on the right
