The Palace houses an outstanding collection of antiques, paintings and rare artifacts and the grounds are renowned throughout the world, making the stateley home one of the most popular tourist attractions in both Perth and Scotland. Poised above the River Tay in Perthshire, Scone Palace overlooks the routes north to the Highlands and east through Strathmore to the coast. The Grampian mountains form a distant backdrop, and across the river stands the city of Perth. Located on the second floor in the North West aspect of the Palace and overlooking the Parks, the Balvaird Wing has been newly refurbished offering guests 5 star, luxury accommodation. The Wing sleeps up to six guests in 3 beautifully decorated, en-suite bedrooms and is accessed via external and internal stairs. Guest facilities include: Comfortable sitting room with magnificent views over the Parks to the river Tay; Fully equipped and spacious dining kitchen suitable for entertaining; TV, DVDs, board games and Wi-Fi facilities; A cook and maid service can also be arranged on request. Not only is the exterior stunning for our guests at Scone Palace, but the grounds and gardens are also an experience and retreat in themselves. Residents have their own private gardens at Scone seen below along with the entire Estate when the gates are closed to visitors. A relaxing outdoor space to enjoy breakfast, your own afternoon tea or a drink before dinner. Guests staying at the Balvaird Wing has complimentary tour tickets for Scone Palace during April to October when the Palace is open to the public. Out with those months we can arrange a private tour subject to availability. More

We had a wonderful stay at The Balvaird Wing and our overseas based friends were overwhelmed with the special experience of being based at Scone Palace. The accommodation itself was absolutely perfect for our needs and we felt truly at home. The kitchen was well supplied, the rooms extremely comfortable and the separate sitting room the finishing touch. We would highly recommend your accommodation to all visitors to the area.' We had friends coming to visit from USA and they wanted to see Scotland so we looked for somewhere special to stay. We were lucky enough to be able to book the apartment in the Balvaird Wing of Scone Palace. Well, what a place, it was certainly somewhere very special! From our first glance of the Palace as we were driving up, we realised just how privileged we were to be able to stay there. The apartment is absolutely stunning, it is very spacious with three very large bedrooms, two of which have two king sized beds each and one with a large canopy bed. The en-suite bathrooms are very spacious, two having a shower and bath and one with a large original bath but no shower. There is also a large sitting room and a kitchen/dining room. There are beautiful artefacts in every room which add to the luxury and elegance of the apartment. It is extremely well equipped with everything your would need and the attention to detail was amazing. There was a welcome hamper in the kitchen with tea, coffee, bread, shortbread, jam and marmalade and butter and milk in the fridge. There was also dishwasher tablets, laundry tablets and washing up liquid etc. We were short of nothing! We ordered the breakfast packs for the first morning and the produce was top quality and plentiful. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed from Sunday to Wednesday and, because some restaurants only open from Wednesday onwards, we were struggling to find places to eat in the evening. Stephen, the Head of Scone Palace came to the rescue and recommended some restaurants, all of which were excellent with amazing food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. We cannot recommend this accommodation enough. Our American friends were wowed from the moment they saw it and they said the experience was so special and unique, it would stay with them forever. I hope we get to stay at the apartment again in the future, it was truly a memorable experience.

We started our trip in the UK with a stay in the Balvaird Wing in Scone Palace. It was a phenomenal experience that was a highlight of our trip. There was a welcome basket when we arrived with jams, cookies, bread and oat milk to get us started on our stay. The apartment is spacious and beautifully decorated; the kitchen is fully equipped. The living room is a comfortable place to relax after a day of exploring the area. The grounds are extensive and it was lovely to have access to explore them in the evenings. The maze was fun for everyone in the family. We could not have had a better start to our trip and the experience of staying in a castle was extraordinary. Thank you everyone at Scone for making us feel so welcome and for providing such a lovely place to stay.

The Scone Palace and its grounds are beautiful and I was surprised and happy to learn there is a 3BR apartment available in the Palace. I stayed there with my family and we had a wonderful stay. The apartment is elegant, and each of the BR has a different personality and look. The BAs and kitchen are well appointed. The apartment is very quiet, and it is charming to hear the peacocks outside. The apartment is large, and there is terrific privacy. I went for a run on the grounds one morning and didn't see another soul - I felt like I owned the place!

A stay in the Balvaird Wing at Scone Palace is nothing short of magical. So magical that I sit here struggling to find words do it justice. We booked a stay in the Balvaird Wing to celebrate a milestone birthday for my wife. Our stay included her two sisters & their husbands. Our planning was full of grandiose ideas about getting everyone together & pulling out all the stops for a special dinner party. But then after we booked, we started talking to the wonderful team at Scone & quickly realized that our ideas weren't grandiose at all. They were all achievable and then some! The Balvaird suite is nothing short of perfect: 3 big beautifully-appointed bedrooms with private baths, a real kitchen & a comfortable sitting room. And then there's grounds... simply unbelievable! I rose early that first morning and took my tea & toast out to the garden where I sat marveling at the view as a gorgeous peacock, that I later came to know as Alexander, wandered over to join me. Each day, we basked in the comforts of our suite, made day trips around the countryside & freely wandered the grounds marveling at both the history and the majestic beauty of everything. And that grandiose dinner party we'd dreamed of, well that turned into the dinner party of dreams. Starting with delicious appetizers in the palace and a private tour of Scone with the manager, we had a 5-star dinner in the Murray room, graciously hosted by Scone’s chef and staff. The Balvaird Suite is a hard place to leave. But it's even harder to top!

Where to begin? Lovely greeting from the team at Scone on a wild night ensured we got to the apartment safely. The apartment that greeted us was simply amazing. Three stunning en-suite bedrooms, a fabulously well-stocked kitchen and a very, very relaxing sitting room. Lovely welcome pack made sure breakfast was easy on Day 1. Grounds were fabulous. So well thought through and every team member we met was so so friendly. Great walk into Scone took about 30 minutes. Already booking for next year. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We booked the Balvaird Wing as part of our trip to Scotland, with relatives from America. We arrived to be welcomed by Stephen, who answered any questions we had, and recommended places to eat out. In our accomodation there was a welcome pack of bread, jam, milk etc, which meant we didn't need to go out for breakfast supplies, and , in the morning, we even had some porridge made for us in the cafe, and delivered to our door! The whole apartment was beautiful, and so big. We were all very impressed by our rooms, and the decor. Our room had 2 big beds in it, so we were spoilt for choice! The kitchen was well equipped, and the sitting room full of comfortable chairs and sofas. We felt a bit like royalty, staying in such an amazing place. The grounds were wonderful, and having them all to ourselves was a bonus. We were in the maze before the grounds opened, and all had fun finding our way out. There were plants and trees everywhere, and lots of places to explore. Included in our stay was the Palace tour, and this was very interesting and enjoyable. The cafe was good, and the gift shop well stocked. There are a lot of steps up to the apartment, but the 94 year old in our group is very sprightly, so they weren't a problem! These are mentioned when booking, and would be a problem to anyone with mobility problems. The nice weather was an added bonus. It was a great place to stay, and would love to return one day. Thank you to Stephen, and all the staff for being so friendly and helpful.

Exceeded expectations and a super experience for our family making this a truely memorable weekend. Lovely clean and spacious rooms (all with large en-suite facilities) with a good sized kitchen and lounge/dining room overlooking views of the estate and river Tay. Exceedingly friendly staff and fantastic meals. Enjoyed walking around the grounds with our family (getting lost in the maze) and watching the peacocks! Thank you S, G, chef S and P.

We rented the apartment for four nights. Substantial rooms with in-suite bathrooms, nice kitchen and dining area with up to date appliances, comfortable parlor. Nice mix of modern and Victorian, and very comfortable to stay in. The staff were nice and easy to work with (thank you Shannon!), and the environment was peaceful and pastoral. We truly enjoyed the beautiful grounds, especially after visiting hours. I will stay again the next time I am in Scotland.

Absolutely outstanding location, and brilliant service from start to finish. The accommodation exceeded expectations in every way, and little touches like the complimentary welcome pack simply topped everything off. Attention to detail, and immaculate presentation continue throughout the entire wing, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful, even though we never needed to involve them. We will be back again soon!
