We booked the Balvaird Wing as part of our trip to Scotland, with relatives from America. We arrived to be welcomed by Stephen, who answered any questions we had, and recommended places to eat out. In our accomodation there was a welcome pack of bread, jam, milk etc, which meant we didn't need to go out for breakfast supplies, and , in the morning, we even had some porridge made for us in the cafe, and delivered to our door!
The whole apartment was beautiful, and so big. We were all very impressed by our rooms, and the decor. Our room had 2 big beds in it, so we were spoilt for choice! The kitchen was well equipped, and the sitting room full of comfortable chairs and sofas. We felt a bit like royalty, staying in such an amazing place.
The grounds were wonderful, and having them all to ourselves was a bonus. We were in the maze before the grounds opened, and all had fun finding our way out. There were plants and trees everywhere, and lots of places to explore. Included in our stay was the Palace tour, and this was very interesting and enjoyable. The cafe was good, and the gift shop well stocked.
There are a lot of steps up to the apartment, but the 94 year old in our group is very sprightly, so they weren't a problem! These are mentioned when booking, and would be a problem to anyone with mobility problems.
The nice weather was an added bonus.
It was a great place to stay, and would love to return one day. Thank you to Stephen, and all the staff for being so friendly and helpful.
