Cow Shed 2 is our second self-catering cottage, the other being 'The Cow Shed at Lettoch' and has been converted from an existing farm steading by the owners Steve & Kirsty Rawson. It is finished to the same high standards as The Cow Shed and features a few interesting sustainable building practices such as an internal clay plastered straw bale wall, recycled pallet wood feature walls, a hessian clad ceiling, as well as a kitchen made up almost entirely of recycled pallet wood. The renovation is an expression of Steve's keen interest in sustainable but high quality building and ideas picked up from various travels around the UK and abroad. The property is a 2 person self-catering cottage and is located within the same steading as The Cow Shed, but with its own private decking area from which to enjoy the views across the va... We were looking for a cosy cottage to have a nice quiet New Year's Eve in, with beautiful scenery and nice surroundings. This cottage is absolutely beautiful and gave us everything we were looking for. New Year's Eve overlooking fireworks in the glen beneath us was perfect and Steve and Kirsty are fantastic hosts, very friendly and a wealth of...

This was our second time at the Cowshed 2 and it was even better than our first! Steve and Kirsty are so helpful and are always on hand for any advice you need for the local area. The cottage itself is amazing, underfloor heating ensures you're always warm and the wood burner is lovely. The kitchen has everything you need...

Management response:

Lovely review, thank you. So glad you came back and enjoyed your stay and made the most of the snow.

This was our second visit to Cow Shed 2 and it was every bit as good as last time. Steve has added some lovely touches of lamps and a clock made from reclaimed materials. The Cow Shed 2 is cosy, comfortable and well looked after. It is a very relaxing place to stay and located perfectly for exploring Pitlochry and...

Management response:

Thanks for the great review. Much appreciated. And so glad you came back and enjoyed your return visit. Although the snow can present it's challenges we're more than rewarded by the transformation into a winter wonderland which is a great experience. And of course it makes the underfloor heating and the log burning stove even more welcome. Having said all...

About the neighbourhood
The Pitlochry & Blair Atholl area is a great place to while away a week. Relaxing walks, interesting attractions, great restaurants & coffee shops, and even some good shopping (particualry The House of Bruar).
