Patrick Kavanagh is Ireland's most treasured poet and novelist and Kavanagh's Mews was once his home. Here you'll enjoy the peace and quiet of a writer's haven a stone's throw from every socialite's Dublin dream...a bustling quarter with fine pubs, bars, hotels, restaurants, grocery shops, barber shops, flower shops, book shops, coffee kiosks, bike stations, bus stops, DART train stops. About the neighbourhood
Ballsbridge is posh! no two ways about it...and while Mr. Balls who built the bridge may not have seen it coming ... Ballsbridge is simply the most upmarket area and postal code in Dublin (not that we have postal codes of any great length - and the postal code is D4)...say 'D4' to any taxi driver and he's likely to say - 'posh'. Home to Ireland's Embassy belt, Ballsbridge is leafy, safe and secure, with Victorian period architecture and an infusion of grace that you can't help relaxing into. The Mews is in the heart of Ballsbridge with all the quietness that that affords with the bustling of Dublin city within seriously easy reach. The Mews is so central - step out of the Mews turn right and right again a few metres to pick up the Capital's best coffee from award winning Barista champion -...
How to get there
Midweek between 8am and 10am and 4.30pm and 6.30pm are peak traffic times so if you're popping into a cab around this time to come to the Mews from the airport - it'll be busy and you may be better off taking the Air Coach. At non peak times there can be precious little traffic coming into Dublin from the airport in which case ask the taxi driver if he plans to take the port tunnel or not - the tunnel is quicker but adds to your bill...at peak time the tunnel can cost €10 each way...but off peak the tunnel toll is €3... but best ask. In any case off peak a taxi driver will probably be just as quick (an additional 10 minutes tops) coming through town instead of using the port tunnel. The Air Coach is another option from the airport and if you take it make sure to take route 702 as it pa...
