Enjoyed staying here. Lovely host, had everything we needed. Central to where we wanted to visit. Loved the kitchen being upstairs and bathroom down as in the night didn't have to climb stairs. Great directions and nothing was too much bother. Highly recommended

Situated just 20 min from Limerick, and about 30 min from the Tarbert/Kilimer Ferry Terminal which takes you to County Kerry. Coolbeg Lodge was a terrific base for our week long stay, as it was around 2 hours drive from all the popular and lesser known tourist spots, Bunratty Castle and Adare just to name a few. Patrick and Maura were great hosts; friendly, gracious and nothing was too much trouble. We were able to use their washing machine which we appreciated very much. Fresh milk and homemade banana bread was ready for us on arrival. A couple of points to note though: The stairs up to the kitchenette are very steep and the treads very narrow (it's pretty much a ladder). Would NOT suit someone with limited mobility. The shower cubicle is very small. A larger/plus size person would simply not fit through the narrow door opening. Welcoming local pub within walking distance and the very popular John Quinn De Bucket Pub a 5 min drive away which offers delicious pub grub.

We were warmly welcomed by Pat to this one bedroomed rental cottage in Kildimo, Co Limerick. Everything was clean and tidy and perfectly comfortable and cosy. The small mezzanine kitchen/diner was well equipped with all we needed for a two night stay. The setting of the cottage is very nice, with pretty gardens, just off the main road. Pat was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed and gave us some top tips for exploring the local area (CurraghChase etc). An ideal place 30 min from Shannon Airport. We stayed here on our way back home. Very satisfied with our stay, thankyou.

Coolbeg Lodge is a perfect picture of a quaint Irish cottage. It was everything we wanted our lodging to be. Easy to find. Lots of sites in and around the area to see. It's location is perfect for day trips to other areas in Ireland. The owners are wonderful. Pat and his wife are friendly and informative but never intrusive. The cottage is fully equipped with everything we needed. Clean and comfortable. I will recommend the cottage to everyone I know. And if I am ever lucky enough to revisit Ireland I will be staying at Coolbeg Cottage.

About the neighbourhood
Experience Limerick, the Riverside City Limerick City is a busy, bustling city and the commercial capital of the Mid-West of Ireland. It is a compact, walk-able city where most of the sights and attractions are within a stone's throw of each other. Its castles, ancient walls and museums are testament to its dramatic past. Limerick City is the third largest city of the Republic of Ireland, situated on the River Shannon ,the longest river in Ireland. Celts & Normans left their mark in this town & in 1691 after the Battle of the Boyne, the Treaty of Limerick was signed on a stone known as The Treaty Stone that has become a famous landmark. The oldest part of Limerick is King's Island with its narrow medieval streets & King John's Castle which was built by the Normans in the 13th century.T...
