In January 2022 we booked a pretentious place on Rue Monge - only to be notified in June that the apartment had been sold. Chaos how do we find something reliable for September. Fortunately we were extremely lucky to come across this listing. The photo does not do it justice imho. Here you have the rooftops of Paris, with elevator, sleeping loft and bathroom and it is steps to the most amazing area in Paris - just off Montorgueil; home to the oldest boulangerie in Paris (and the best croissants). Before heading there I had identified the variety of food stores located on that 2 block strip and soon realized we would not be staying long enough to sample each one. The suite is in a pedestrian area, so the noise is from the pedestrians having a wonderful time. Yes, this is Paris and every corner in this neighbourhood has a cafe with outdoor service so you can watch the world go by as you snack, drink or sip your coffee. There is a Metro at one end of the main street and another a couple block in the other direction. With our pass in hand we could be almost anywhere in Paris within 20 minutes, but much of our time - the best time was just walking. The small kitchen is perfect for breakfast and a snack or 'pero' on the terrace. The washing machine is much appreciated when staying more than a week, and who can stay less than that when in Paris. We are so lucky our original plans forced a change, thank you Nancy for inviting us into your home. It is the perfect location, and yes you can see the Eiffel Tower from the terrace at night. So romantic!

This charming apartment is in one of the liveliest areas of central Paris. Spending a month in Paris with this home base was a breeze as it couldn't have been better situated. I walked to the Seine to Les Halles to the Louvre to Centre Pompidou to Picasso museum to Place d'Opera and even to the outdoor market at Place de la Bastille. The apartment is small but cozy, with a very comfortable bed. Since I was there for the month of August I spent most of my time in the apartment on the delightful balcony listening to the sounds of clinking glasses and murmured conversation from the cafes on the street below. Being around the corner from the two market blocks of Rue Montorgueil means cafes serving all types of cuisines, cheese shops butcher shops bakeries fruit and vegetable stands fine pastries wines and marmalades and anything you want is right there at your doorstep. The kitchen was fine and there was nice light in the apartment. I had a bit of trouble learning about a washer that's also a dryer, and about the moveable A/C -Fan unit upstairs but minor details in a perfect month across the pond. Perfect for one person or a couple!

If you're looking for a super-charming, typically Parisien place to stay, this is it. Unusual layout (small kitchen, dining & seating areas on lower floor, bedroom & bathroom on upper floor) with great rooftop views out both sides. Small, cute balcony with table & 2 chairs. Very nice decor & all the required modern conveniences (elevator & wifi, for example.) But I think the part that my wife and I liked the best was the neighborhood. Steps away from a pedestrian street with lots of restaurants and bars, plus local shops for the basic food & drink you want to have on-hand when you're staying in an apartment. Although the area is quite lifely, the apartment is actually down a small side-street, just far enough away from the action that noise wasn't really a problem. Transportation is very easy - just about a 5 minute walk away from metro and RER at Les Halles. And our host Nancy was very helpful, getting us settled in. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

First, location location location. This charming apartment puts you in the center of everything, next to Les Halles, all the attractions of the right bank, close to Notre Dame and an easy walk to all the left bank attractions. My husband and I utilized Le Metro, with an brief walk to a nearby station, to go everywhere. This apartment is smack in the middle of one of the most attractive and vital pedestrians-only neighborhood, Rue Montorgueil. All you need is here, patisseries, boucheries, vegetable, wine and fish merchants. The bed is top notch, with lovely pillows and linens, and the kitchen is adequately equipped. if you are a foodie, go to Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie, a few blocks away, for an incredible lunch or dinner. Raviolis stuffed with foie gras in a truffle cream sauce. My husband had a gorgeous salad with 5 differently prepared pieces of duck. OMG. Nancy was very welcoming, greeting us personally, and gave us a full tour and a cup of tea on our arrival. And a gift of a bottle of wine! Thank you Nancy for a great Paris experience. We heartily recommend this rental to anyone who wants to explore and experience Paris.

Very nice cozy apartment in a superb area. The apt is very clean, kept up great with new stove (not used), microwave, washer/dryer. The apt is small, meant for 2 people max, lovely wood beams, extremely quiet with an elevator. Extremely fast internet wifi, good phone system. We enjoyed it.

Like other reviewers, my 18 year old daughter and i enjoyed our stay in this small split level apartment for one week (June 2016). Located on rue Marie Stuart zip code 7500 (google it), the closest metro is E'tienne Marcel, and the apt is about 1/2 mile as the cow flies to the Seine, and about a 30 minute walk to Notre Dame. The neighborhoods in the immediate area are mainly pedestrian (big selling point!) and there are lots of shops and restaurants. While we were there, the many bar-restaurants on the closest street Rue Montorgueil were packed to the gills at night with young people drinking and watching the Euro 2106 Soccer. However, rue Marie Stuart is a narrow side street and therefore was pretty quiet nonetheless. The apt is on the 6th floor, so thank goodness for the tiny lift! I am a big man and so I used the queen size bed upstairs which is where the bathroom is (toilet, narrow bathtub w shower), while my daughter slept on the convertible couch downstairs in the small living room. The apartment is clean and well equipped as described; it was also stocked with supplies, The apartment owner Nancy rents out the flat (which is her own home) while she is goes away on travel. She is exceptionally nice and was really wonderful to work with and kept in contact with us well in advance and then again as our arrival neared. In fact, she was instrumental in alerting us (while we were in Italy) about an Air France pilot's strike which in turn allowed us time to purchase new flights on anther airline at the last minute! Upon arrival Nancy greeted us at the apartment and carefully explained where things were and how everything worked (washing machine, stove and oven, internet, keys and security, etc.). There was not much else we could have asked for and I highly recommend it.

Everything was wonderful. I felt at home. The area was perfect. Stores , bakery, butcher shop everything was accessible Easy to get around by the train station. Was there for New years.

September 2012 my husband and I travelled to Paris and stayed in Nancy's apartment so when making our plans to return to Paris September this year there was no question as to where we would stay. Nancy has done some renovations to the apartment and I must say she has done an excellent job. Same as last time Nancy was always at the ready to help out if need be. It felt like comming back home ,that is how friendly Nancy is and how we felt about the apartment. You really feel like a parisean when you stay here, you are away from the tourists and mixing with the local people. I just loved going out into the street to shop for an evening meal the only thing missing was my ability to speak French which didn't matter anyway. There is a number of good restaurants just a minutes walk fron the front door and train station just up the road. We walked every where when we didn't neeed to use the train. Nancy provided us with the bus number to catch should we want to travel this way. The balcony although small for two people it is big enough, how big do you need a balcony to be anyway. We had breakfast out there on a couple of occassions with beautiful fresh crossiants that we just popped out to buy and the glass of wine at the end of the day and into the evening always went down well when sitting out there. The restaurant directly opposite the front door is a must as we found out late in our stay. Do yourself a favour and stay in Romantic Paris - Nancy will not let you down.

nancy was an amazing help,even helped our friends find their apt,so close to the best market in paris,so close to subway,dinning and even though the balcony was small, it was perfect for two people and a bottle of wine,,no need to go far for a restaurant,it is right below the apt,though a bit noisy at times,,kitchen is small, but no need to cook,being so close to the market,and such a quaint paris apt,and nancy assured us we could call her with any questions,,any time,a great host,really, look no further,walked everywhere,and there was a tub in the bathroom,fabulous,

When it comes to real estate, there's that saying "Location, location, location!" This apartment's location can't be beat given the surrounding neighborhood contains everything you could possibly want for your true Parisian experience. It is also a 10 minute walk to the Louvre/Seine, and only a short walk to the best restaurants of the Marais, and all other touristy attractions. If walking isn't for you, rest assured... there are 3 Metro stations within 5 minutes of the building and it is easy to use. The apartment itself is nestled in a secure building with an elevator -- just off Montegueil. Montegueil the quintessential Parisian street that has 2 fromageries, a boulangerie and fish store, wine shops, bread stores, pastry shops, 2-3 produce stands, a grocery store, MANY cafes/bars, and... a Starbucks (yes, drip coffee for all you fellow addicts). The apartment itself offers many of the American luxuries such as a CLEAN bathtub/shower with a shower curtain, CLEAN bed/linens, stylish decor, AC (if you need it), a washing machine/dryer, a stovetop and oven (and any pots/pans/glasses you may need), and a balcony that overlooks the neighborhood's roofs-tops. You really couldn't ask for more -- but Nancy, being the great host she is, will help you with any requests that might come up. We actually traveled with our 10 month old son and Nancy kindly welcomed him (only after providing a safety/convenience caution that there were stairs in the apartment) and her apartment had ample room for his portable crib. We really lucked out with this place and would highly recommend it to guests in the future.
