Condo/Apartment
A superbly located apartment in the equally superb small, Provencal market town of Uzès. On the first floor, (of 2) you have the town on the one side and on the other there are lovely views over the historical valley of Eure where the Romans built their conduit for the magnificent Pont-du-Gard. Lots of lovely walks wind their way through the valleys and hills all the way to The Bridge. Little bike routes too if this is your preferred mode of transport. The apartment is around 53 sq.m with a terrace for sunny breakfast & dinners under the stars. Bi-weekly markets take place in the now well known Place aux Herbes, just 150m walk away. Here you also have the many little cafés and eating places which invite you to dawdle over a coffee and watch the world go by. Summer evenings can get quite lively with all the outdoor restaurants in full swing. Uzès itself is a true gem of a little town albeit with a rather turbulent history. Happily this is of the past and the quiet, winding streets now meandering through town reveal an artistic life and dedication to the good food of which the region abounds. Buses (very cheap) run from Uzès to Nimes, Avignon and assorted villages around. In the summer there is a special beach service to the Mediterranean. More

We had two weeks in this comfy little flat, handy for the bus stop and Place Aux Herbes. One floor up, but nice easy steps. No washing machine, but a 'laverie', if needed, about 100 yards away. The balcony was a real bonus - sunny...More

Really good location as regards Market Days in Uzes. Apartment has everything required for a stay. View from the Balcony is really great . Even getting bags up to the first floor was easy due to the reaaly wide stair way.

About the neighbourhood
Uzès is a small town of just over 8000 souls and quite a few more over the summer period! The little town has everything you could wish for by way of services and facilities, quite remarkable for such a small place and nothing is ever more than a few minutes walk away. One can easily while away a week pottering around the local Chateau (the Duchy) the Museum, exhibitions and shops (not to mention the cafés) The twice weekly colourful Provencale markets take place in the Place aux Herbes, a simple hop and a skip from the apartment. With a car (or even bus), the towns of Nimes and Avignon are just over 1/2 hour away, Arles and Montpellier about 1 hour and countless historical villages and places of interest are dotted in between. The enchanting Provençale landscape comes for free all over! ...
Getting around
If you have read the preceding sections, you will also have read about the various means of transport. Some guests prefer to stay around 'home' though others are interested in seeing the maximum of sights in the area (to do it all you would need months!) Again, I'm happy to point you in the right direction according to what interest you.
