Tranquility in vibrant middle age village
We stayed in this lovely place for two weeks. The house is very spacious and clean. If you love to cook, there are all amenities available in the kitchen and you can get fresh local ingredients. If you are interested in medieval history and architecture, this is a place to be. If you like sport, there is canoeing and swimming in Tarn, picturesque paths for walking or running around Cordes. The cherry on top is swimming pool to plunge in when the weather is too hot and you just want a lazy day. We had all the help from the owner or Mme Katrine living on the same street couple of houses away, if needed. Overall I can only say we were all very happy here and had wonderful holidays.

Map
About the neighbourhood
Cordes-sur-Ciel lies on one point of the famously beautiful golden triangle, the other two points being Albi - a World Heritage Site with its famous Medieaval cathedral, Toulouse Lautrec museum and delightful shops - and the market town of Gaillac, famous for the wine that has been produced in the region since Roman times. Cordes holds its weekly market every Saturday morning and there are hundreds of pretty stone villages and vineyards all around to drive, hike or cycle to and explore. Cordes also has tennis courts you can hire.
Getting around
There are plenty of bike and hiking routes on your doorstep and kayaking down the nearby Aveyron Gorge is a must. There are two adult bikes at the house and a large, dry secure storage area in the basement for anyone wishing to bring their own bikes or any other equipment.
