Just the perfect apartment for who wants to experience the very heart of the Eternal City. The address: via dei Chiavari. An elegant and quite street right in the heart of Rome, few steps from Campo dei Fiori and Piazza Navona. The palace where the flat is located was built in the 1200 on the ruins of the stage of 'Pompeo's Theater' - Rome's first theatre from 55 b.c. Recently, the building has been finely renovated and during the process the technicians have brought back to light some very beautiful frescos from the 1200 which are now visible on the sealing of the entrance hall. The flat is placed on a high 3rd floor (high 4th by US standards) and is serviced by an elevator (a true rarity in buildings of this area). It's full of light and from its large windows you can enjoy a lovely view of the rooftops of the historical city center. The apartment is over 60 sq. meters (about 650 sq.ft). From the frontdoor, you get into an entrance and then you enter in a large living space which opens on the other rooms. Everything has been renovated in the most elegant way, with handmade Tuscany' tiles on the entire apartment's floor. The living space is virtually divided in two areas: the living and the dining area. Here a beautiful antique Italian dining table can be expanded to easily sit up to eight guests. While in the living area, sitting at the sofa you can enjoy the sunset on the rooftops through a beautiful large window. Moreover, if you need, the sofa can be transformed into a very comfortable queen size bed for your visiting family and friends. The bedroom reserves another incredible sight: the original 1200's roof tiles and woodwork have been perfectly kept through the centuries and constitute today's sealing' finishing! On the less historical side, here you find a nice king-size bed, a very large in-wall closet, a writing desk and the private entrance to the bathroom. The bathroom has two independent entrances both from the living area as well as from the bedroom. Here you find an elegant white and blue handmade tile work on the walls, the handbasin, the w.c, a comfortably large showercabin (sorry, no tub) and – following the Italian tradition - the 'bidet'. The kitchen displays the same tile work as the bathroom and another hint to our history: the working surface is made of travertine marble - the same material used to build the Coloseum and most of the ancient palaces of the city. Logically, here you'll find all common appliances but also a washing machine with the dryer (a very useful, but not so common appliance in Italian homes). The windows here are made of specially hand-blown glass and they open on a tiny, cozy backyard, giving another view of the rooftops around. Overall the flat is elegantly furnished with antique as well as modern furnitures, original paintings and art works on the walls. The rooms are though intended to offer a pleasant balance between full and open space, leaving to you the eventuality to add your personal touch to your new home. Moreover, the apartment enjoys an independent gas heating system, an armored frontdoor, a safe, double-glazed wooden windows, a loft storage space over the kitchen, several cabinets, TV, telephones, vacuum cleaner etc. Would you like to know a bit more? A home in the city of eternity
To have a home in Rome is a luxury - or a necessity? Or both? We felt it: finding our way back through the small streets of the campo marzio back to 'our place' - when it became too hot, when the thunderstorm set in (always at half past 4) or in the night with the moon shining in the blue sky. It was great to be able to have this sense of belonging to a piece of the city of eternity. The apartment had all we needed, even enough of a bit of privacy for 2, when we decided to use the living room as a second bedroom. Waking up in the morning (the seagulls work fine as alarm clock over the church bells), having the first espresso while looking across the sea of roofs - that's just the thing. Thanks to our hosts, Massimo and Biancamaria, who magically fixed all problems. We will be back!!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!
This apartment is ideally located less than a half hour walk from almost anything you could want to see in Rome. The lively Campo de' Fiori market is a few minutes in one direction, the lovely little Benedetto Cairoli park, a few minutes in the other. The street is dominated by the Roscioli brothers' "empire" with their fantastic forno (bakery), salumeria (restaurant-deli) and breakfast caffè. It is an easy walk to the Ponte Garibaldi bridge that leads to Trastevere. The apartment, on the third floor of a very quiet building with views across the neighbouring rooftops, is a good size for a couple. The kitchen and bathroom are quite adequate, the bed is extremely comfortable, and of course it is WiFi equipped. You can count on the charming hosts, Massimo and Biancamaria, to be attentive to your needs.

Located in the heart of antique Rome : Rome is Home - over our expectations
We realized our dream of discovering Rome, and in a superb way. Beyond the impressive remains of Rome, the importance of its history and the incredible richness of its treasures, the discovery of the RiH apartment is part, in another register, of the unforgettable balance sheet of our experience. Its location and character immerse us in the heart of the most beautiful area of Rome, within walking distance of all places and sites of interest. Located in a safe neighborhood, the apartment is bright, clean, comfortable, quiet and equipped with modern amenities that quickly make us feel at home. A short walk away is a multitude of services: variety of restaurants, markets, shops and businesses, public transport and cultural activities, which adds to the stay the feeling of choosing a relaxing and at the same time enriching way of life, at our own pace. We will come back to it.

Perfect apartment for central Rome
We stayed at Rome is Home for four nights in April. The apartment was perfect for us as a couple. Massimo, the owner, was kind and helpful and even phoned us on the afternoon we arrived to welcome us and check that all was well. Ronnie, who welcomed us in person, also made sure all was well. The apartment is a family home and well provided with amenities and information. We were looking for a base in the centro storico that was within walking distance of the main sights. This was much more than that and also became a centre for living in the smaller surrounding area. The cafe next door for breakfast, the bakery up the street and the gelateria round the corner. The Campo di Fiori is two minutes away but the apartment is quiet at night. We had a great stay and will come back to this apartment in future when we are in Rome as a couple.

Staying here was a great part of our vacation.
It was such a pleasure, staying in this flat truly added so much to our experience in Rome. It felt like our home away from home, albeit in a much more picturesque setting! We loved how close we were to delicious food and wonderful sites and adventures. It was so much fun to buy fresh bread in the morning from the nearby bakery and fruit from the market before setting out for our adventure of the day. And knowing that we could call Massimo if we needed to just made being there all the more comfortable. I’ve been telling my friends that if they want to go to Roma - which I highly recommend - that I know the best place to stay. Having a great location and beautiful setting helped make our adventure even better than I could have hoped.

Centrally located and convenient
Right in the heart of the Campo di Fiore district, the location couldn't be better for those looking for a convenient place to stay while visiting all of Rome's major tourist sites, most within easy walking distance! Massimo is a great communicator and easy to contact via a phone he lends you for the visit. The apartment is spotless and the kitchen is equipped well. There's wi-fi as well. Though the apartment is on the third floor there is an elevator to make the trip upstairs easy. Centrally located, the fun and excitement of the Rome is right beneath the apartment and just steps outside the door. There are many eating places and shopping opportunities in the immediate area. I highly recommend Rome is Home for your Rome trip!

Perfectly situated
This little flat suited our purposes perfectly. We wanted to spend 10 days living in a neighborhood of central Rome. We were within walking distance of everything and just set out each day to explore another section of the city. The apartment was clean and comfortable and had lots of good travel books to browse through. It's on a higher floor but has a lift. We were met at the airport and taken to meet the caretaker and get the keys. There is some noise at night from the street but no more than in any big city. We appreciated the quick response from the owners while planning the trip and enjoyed being able to talk to them on the phone if we had questions.Campo de Fiore market is a few minutes walk and there are good restaurants all around. Roscioli! I hope we get to stay here again some day.

Exceptional lodgings at a very fair price that represents excellent value
The flat is located in a wonderful unassuming, friendly area which gives you a nice neighborhood experience. Close to everything-walking everywhere, the only time we needed a taxi was for the Vatican and a restaurant in the suburbs. The owner was available by phone 24 hours/day and encouraged us to call for even the most trivial of inquiries. The check-in/check-out was seamless and well-executed. I suggest taking advantage of the airport transfer- in our case a Mercedes van for the price of a standard taxi. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have found this place.
