My family and I stayed in this flat for four days in September. I wish we could have been there for 4 months at least! It was wonderful.
Lorenza, the flat manager, was beyond kind and helpful. She met us at the San Stae vaporetto stop and walked us to the flat and helped us get oriented. She was quick to answer questions we had during the stay (via WhatsApp). There is wifi in the flat.
The space is very bright and airy (and immaculate). I would guess an architect and interior designer worked on it. The detailing throughout is simple and elegant - especially with the slightly curved walls to help open up the space. All the furnishings are perfectly chosen. The couch was clearly custom made with a slight curve to fit just right. We were there with our 8 year old little boy, who immediately found a little stash of toy soldiers and dinosaurs that 'battled' the whole time we were there. He fell in love with Venice!
The downstairs bed is very comfortable (it seems bigger than a 'double' - I'd say it was a queen size). The two twin beds are in the upstairs loft - they are more firm. The entire kitchen is built-in and had everything we needed to prepare meals at 'home'. We enjoyed eating at the big dining table and (more frequently) on the AMAZING rooftop. We had the windows open the whole time we were there. It was so lovely to hear all the sounds drifting in the windows.
We fell in love with the neighborhood, too. It was not choked with hordes of people, even though it was very centrally located. There is a small supermarket (Coop) within easy walking distance, tucked into a small 'campo'. You can get any essentials you need from there. Just before we left on our trip, Alessandra provided us with her recommended list of things to do. We fit in as many as we were able and I think it made the difference of a fun trip into a truly memorable one.
A few random things to mention: the flat is at the top of 4 flights of stairs. Don't let this deter you, just pack lighter!! There is a washing machine there that we used. You will walk EVERYWHERE in Venice. Don't bother packing any shoes that you can't walk a lot in! There is hand-soap in the flat, but no other toiletries - you may want to tuck these in your suitcase. There are mosquitos in Venice - especially if you have the windows open. They weren't horrible (like tiger mosquitos) but they were annoying so we slept with the A/C on.
