My wife and I took our first trip to Amsterdam and it was fantastic, made even better because we stayed here! My wife typically handles our vacation travel arrangements, but I decided to handle everything and live a local by booking an apartment instead of a hotel. My wife did insist that we rent from an owner and from someone who spoke English to minimize any miscommunications. I researched a few properties but chose this one due to the owner’s responsiveness. Joan was great; we had tons of questions, and she answered every email promptly. She was warm, professional and her answers were always thoughtful.
Upon arriving, Sylvia and Vito welcomed us, oriented us to the apartment and graciously shared insights on the neighborhood, transportation, and the sights. They were patient and generous with their time. Before leaving, they insisted that we should not hesitate to contact them if we had any questions or needed any further assistance.
The apartment exceeded our expectations. It was spotless, spacious and filled with many little touches that made it feel like home. The kitchen was well-designed and functional. After traveling over 11 hours, we were delighted to open the fridge and find a chilled bottle of wine. My wife was impressed. Usually, she drops her bag and heads to the bar to unwind. Instead, we kicked off our shoes and enjoyed a glass of wine while we relaxed on the couch. We took Sylvia and Vito’s suggestion and ordered take out from the Indian restaurant. It was just the first of many enjoyable evenings. The bedroom was great and comes outfitted with a television, computer, printer & Wi-Fi access. The bed was very comfortable and roomy. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank you for the instructions on how to use the Nespresso coffee machine and the coffee. Sipping coffee and watching the city come to life through large light filled windows was marvelous.
A stellar location and a lively neighborhood make this apartment a perfect choice. We walked out of the front door and were just steps away from the tram, grocery store, cafes, numerous restaurants and the Anne Frank house. We didn't miss a hotel concierge because there’s a tourism/travel office and bike rental shop right downstairs. We walked all over the city, hoping on the tram, bike or canal boat, to explore the neighborhoods and to enjoy the people, cuisine, museums; and a few "coffee" shops.
We began recommending this property before our trip was even over! Loved it!
