Coming for the Web Summit? Our apartment is 15 minutes on the metro to Oriente station, where the event will take place. And 20 min to the airport. All on the same red line, on the apartment door step. On the first floor of the building, with 2 elevators, you’ll find this tranquil apartment with: - 1 living room with a fully equipped kitchenette (15.5 m2); - 1 bedroom (10.5 m2); - 1 bathroom (4 m2); - 1 hall (5 m2). One extra folding bed is available in the living room so that 3 people may sleep in this property. The bedroom can be used as double or twin. The 2 single beds can be joined to made double with no gap between them. For the time you are indoors, you can enjoy free cable TV, Wi-Fi and music doc for any smartphone. There is also: fridge, freezer, microwave with grill, toaster, kettle, washing machine, heaters, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, cutlery, towels, linen, hairdryer. If you need anything else just let me know. LGBT friendly. The house has a smoke detector, a fire blanket and a fire extinguisher. A CO2 detector is not required as there are no gas appliances in the apartment. The metro station of S. Sebastião, home to the red and blue lines, is just a few steps away. In about 5 minutes you can be in areas like Alfama, Bairro Alto, Chiado,... You can enjoy the vicinity of these places and yet sleep in a quiet room at night, away from noisy bars and restaurants. In 20 minute you can be at the Expo '98 site, the modern side of Lisbon, with its beautiful promenade by the river bank, shopping centre, restaurants, bars, aquarium (considered by TripAdvisor the best in the world) and more. A couple of minutes’ walk will take you to the Gulbenkian complex, with its exhibitions and concert halls, gardens, cafés (with delicious home made ice creams of local flavours) and restaurants. Also a short stroll will lead you to the “green corridor”, by the end of which you enter the green forest of Monsanto. If you wish to go further afield, into places like Cascais, Estoril or the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sintra, train stations are a few metro stops away. S. Sebastião metro station is 1 minute walk away. Two main lines stop here: the red and the blue lines. Red line stops: - airport - Oriente for main line station with trains to the north and south of Portugal; for MEO arena, a major events venue; for Oceanarium; for Parque das Nações, area for leisure and conference venues; for Vasco da Gama shopping centre; for Web Summit 2016 - Bela Vista for Rock in Rio - S. Sebastião (where the apartment is located) for Gulbenkian art centre, gardens and conference venue; for El Corte Inglés shopping centre; for some major Universities Blue line stops: - Sete Rios for main hub for buses to the north and south of the country - Avenida for Av da Liverdade, the main shopping street for prestige brands - Rossio the 'down town'; for trains to Sintra; for Mouraria, Alfama,... - Baixa-Chiado for Chiado; Bairro Alto,... - Terreiro do Paço for Praça do Comércio; trams and buses to Belém; river front - Santa Apolóna for river front, main line trains to the north and south of Portugal; for Alfama; for Fado museum;... To freely move around the best is to get a 24 hour travel card. This is not a one day travel card, i.e., if you buy it at say at 20:00 it will be valid until 19:59 of the day after. It costs €6 + €0,50 for the rechargeable card itself. It is valid on metro, buses, trams (including the famous 28 tram), the lifts (Glória, Bica, Santa Justa, etc). It’s money well spent if your day involves taking public transports a few times. If you buy individual tickets from the various lifts’ drivers these will be more expensive but if you plan to ride them (up and down) all in one day, the 24 hour ticket is the right choice. These tickets can be bought at the metro station. House Rules: Please DO NOT BOOK the apartment if: ** you believe you will arrive at the apartment after 23.00 ** you are arriving by car and you can not provide us with an arriving time prior to the check-in date or at the time of booking if it's a same day booking. It might not be possible to accommodate changes to the agreed time of arrival. Situations when EXTRA CHARGES apply (all Tourist License / Licencia de turismo N °: 4288/ALMore
