Had a wonderful stay here. The cottage had everything we needed, and the views were beautiful. A fantastic base for exploring Donegal. Hosts were really helpful and left lots of useful information on the area. Would happily book here again. The guardian sheep definitely watched over us during our stay.

Lovely location, everything you need in a holiday home. A pint of milk and packet of biscuits would be welcome on arrival after travelling for 4 hours. Otherwise no problems. Jon replys to messages quickly if you contact him.

We loved the location and the photos don't do it justice. Spent hours sitting in the garden with a tall drink enjoying sea and mountain views. The house is comfortable very clean and good quality beds and kitchenware especially. Very handy for the cliffs the pier and the rusty mackerel pub and lovely beaches nearby. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset in glencolmcille last night of holiday. Would stay again anytime and very good value for money.

In this age of covid 19 I considered canceling. Everything closed the weekend we were there and we even missed the opportunity for the boat tour, regardless it was a lovely stay. Very relaxing, wonderful views and a well stocked kitchen which, due to covid, came in very handy. Will return.

Pleasant 4 day break. Quiet and peaceful. All was as the advert had said. Only problem was the internet connection which had already been pointed out. Locals probably have wfi connected all year, but got it sorted. Cottage was in a great location and great cozy stove if chilly at night. Went to visit stunning sight seeing areas. Waterfalls, many beautiful beaches. Cliff tops etc. Great area for hikers, walkers. Good shops and restaurants near by. Host was very helpful when i connected him. Hope to visit again. Thankyou Jon.

Well equipped and situated base for touring delightful west Donegal. Kitchen perfect for catering at home in these Covid times. House is comfortable and plenty of space outside. On the doorstep of Slieve Liag and lots of lively beaches. Loved it.

We stayed the last week of August when the weather was poor. This did not detract from our enjoyment as the house was well stocked with games to entertain us when it was too wet to go out. The rooms are large and comfortable and the kitchen equipped with everything you would need. Very close to the Slieve League cliffs and beautiful beaches with stunning scenery out of every window the cottage is perfectly located. A 5 minute walk to The Rusty Mackeral a brilliant restaurant. I highly recommend Teelin Cottage to everyone. Thanks to Jon for letting us stay.

About the neighbourhood
South-west Donegal is unspoilt area featured in the Wild Atlantic Way. The small local communities revolve around the farming and fishing industries, and are famously friendly. Glencolumbkille Folk Village is 10km away, with its traditional stone cottages really gives an insight into the lives of the locals before 1950, when the first electricity was introduced. Killybegs is the closest town, and was once the premier fishing port in Europe. You can source the catch of the day from the local fish shop or delicious fish and chips from the catering trailer on the edge of the Harbour. Donegal Town, 45 minutes drive away is the centre of local tourism. It is a great place to explore the craft shops and Magee’s, famous for Donegal Tweed clothing.
Getting around
A car is a must for further travel in the South Donegal area. However, E-Bikes are available for hire from Carrick and will easily take you to the local towns. Walking around is wonderful, please be mindful of the weather as weather can change quickly, especially on the taller hills.
