Part of a beautiful 450 year old converted stable block, The Stables has a lovely feel about it. Just one of those relaxing, happy places. There is a large open plan kitchen, dining and living area in the main part of the barn, with high ceilings, oak beams and cobbled floors - so does have a rustic feel. A wood burner adds warmth and atmosphere if the evenings are a little chilly, though there is full central heating for the cooler months, and the large gas range cooker in the kitchen, makes catering a joy. The double bedroom has fireplace with electric wood burning stove effect fire, giving a romantic and cosy glow, and access to a rear patio with bbq and outside seating. There is a wet room lined with travertine marble and pebbles underfoot in the shower. The second bedroom is in a more modern extension, and and is a little bit work in progress, but offers a bunk bed with a double at the bottom and single on top, plus a cabin bed for a little one, so it could sleep a couple and two kids, or two single adults/older kids plus one child, or three kids. Please note, if the Stables is booked for two people or less, The Stables is offered as a one bedroom property. The double bedroom will be available for use, but the second bedroom with bunk beds will be closed off.More

The Stables is a quaint place to stay. Lovely open space, the log fire made it cosy, nice and quiet too. Good garden for the dogs. There were a few issues, but with a little TLC I am sure I would rate it top marks....More

The Stables has been lavished with TLC since our return from six months away in New Zealand last week. Someone else has been looking after the place for us, and did a great job, but it wasn't at the standard we would have liked it...More

Beautiful building, secluded location and great for a retreat. However prevailing damp through out building due to age and condition led to problems with asthma and skin condition. Otherwise it was a stunning place to holiday and the owners are helpful and friendly. Would recommend.

This is your own space, and we feel your privacy is important. However, we live just next door from May to October, and are happy to help if you need anything. While we are away during the winter, we have managers, friends and neighbours who are always happy to step in if help is needed!
