This secluded town house is situated in the heart of Xaghra, approx 50m from the village square. In the square one can find restaurants bars and the beautiful town church. Situated down a lane, the house has all the old Maltese architectural features from the front courtyard, to the quaint front door. On entering, one finds an open plan hallway sitting, dining room and kitchen, with two large patio doors leading onto a small pool. On the ground floor one also finds a shower room. On the first floor there are three twin bedrooms, and two bathrooms. One can also use the roof sun terrace which has fantastic views of the countryside and distance sea views. As the previous review states, this is very difficult to find! Dont even try to follow the instructions given! Get into Xahgra square (with church) and take street by petrol pumps, Summerfield is on the first alley on right. Probably best to stop car and...More

About the neighbourhood
Ix-Xaghra (pronounced: shara) is built on a hill to the central north-east of the island of Gozo. It lies just under four kilometres from Rabat, the town of the island, and is aptly described as the village of the goddess and the Madonna. Ix - Xaghra was one of the earliest inhabited areas of Gozo. In early modern documents, the plateau is referred to as Xaghret il-Ghazzenin.. In modern times, the people first settled on the hill's highest point, aptly called tal-Qacca. This was Italianized to Caccia, the name by which ix-Xaghra is referred to in the majority of written documents until before the Second world War.
