Interaction with guests
We live on site and are normally there to welcome you and available if there are any issues. We can help with recommendations for walks, pubs etc but try not to bother you unless you need some help.
We are anxious that you raise any problems with us so we can do our best to help, sort out any issues or find a solution as so often small problems are left and only raised at the end of peoples holidays when we could have sorted them out very quickly. It also makes sure our next guests do not experience the same issue.

Just perfect. Great accomodation, perfect quiet location minutes away from Minehead and Exmoor. Our extended family stayed in the HOLLY chalet which sleeps 10. Four bedrooms. Three bathrooms, (one a wet room and great for senior family members), large lounge, fully equipped kitchen. Wifi, TV, DVD. Large perfectly tended grounds for the kids to play...playroom with table tennis. This place...

Management response:

Many thanks for a great review, Cedar only has two bedrooms in case of confusion for people looking at the reviews. Glad you enjoyed yourselves and the apples- Somerset is cider country of course!

About the neighbourhood
At the heart of one of England’s most beautiful regions, Woodcombe Lodges is ideally placed for the glorious countryside of Exmoor National Park, the Quantock Hills and the North Devon coastline. At the same time, Minehead with its seafront, harbour and wide range shops, pubs, restaurants and local bus services is only 1 ½ miles away.

In a tranquil rural setting on the edge of the National Park, Woodcombe lodges stands with outstanding 180o views from the sea on one side overlooking Minehead and the approaches to Dunster through to the wooded slopes of Exmoor on the other.

Watchet’s harbour, Dunster with it’s castle and medieval Yarn Market, the picturesque villages of Selworthy and Allerford, Porlock and Porlock Weir harbour, and the attractive resorts of Lynton and Lynmouth are all wit...
Getting around
We are a 20 minute walk through the parks into Minehead where there are buses to Taunton, Lynton and Bridgwater which can drop you in town or various villages on the way or even pick you up at the end a walk. There are plenty of taxis in Minehead and a dial up bus service the Moor Rover which can take you out onto Exmoor and the Quantocks for walks etc. The West Somerset Steam railway runs out of Minehead and can take you along the coast to Watchet and all the way to Bishops Lydeard some 24 miles through lovely countryside and many small villages.
Car advised
How to get there
Airport: Bristol or Exeter: 85.0 km
Railway: Taunton: 40.0 km
Ferry: Portsmouth: 220.0 km
Nearest airport Exeter or Bristol
Nearest rail Taunton then bus to Minehead
Car recomended but not essential as Minehead 20 minute walk or five minutes by taxi

Approaching Minehead from the east on the A39, go straight ahead at the first roundabout outside the town. At the next (mini) roundabout take the left fork signed Porlock/Lynmouth (A39).

Follow this road round Minehead for 11/2 miles until reaching a major junction with a right turn back towards Minehead centre signed ‘A39 Minehead’. Turn right here, and after about half a mile take the first turning left into Woodcombe Lane.

Follow this road which becomes Bratton Lane, and then narrows to a country lane. The entrance to Woodcombe Lodge is then the third (and last) driveway on the right.
