Superb luxury coastguards cottage completely rebuilt in 2016 and rated 4 star by Tourism Northern Ireland, is a perfect place to unwind in this un-spoilt part of the lower peninsula. The ground floor features open plan kitchen/dining/living with bi-fold doors opening to a west facing patio for catching the afternoon/evening sun. The upper floor has 3 well appointed bedrooms (king-size, double and single) and bathroom (walk in shower and tub). Under-floor heating, wood burner and natural stone and reclaimed timber floors make this a cosy winter or summer retreat. The property is exceptionally well appointed with sky, wi-fi, built in audio (which guests can connect to via Bluetooth), high spec kitchen, feature lighting etc and positioned opposite the slipway for immediate access to the...Superb luxury coastguards cottage completely rebuilt in 2016 and rated 4 star by Tourism Northern Ireland, is a perfect place to unwind in this un-spoilt part of the lower peninsula. Excellent place very well equipped for all your needs, nice bright and airy accommodation hi tech equipment installed. Off road parking, right on the sea front close to local amenities and restaurants not to far away although you do need to drive. Stephie and Steven are very nice people and was welcomed with wine and chocolates. Would certainly recommend and stay again. Definitely worth the stay we we're here for 10 days.🙂👍🙂

great holiday in a lovely cottage. spent two weeks on the beach with my dog. the cottage is only 11 miles to the ferry which is a short crossing to Strangford and the first Game of Thrones Door. the surrounding area is full of fantastic places to eat and its a great base to stay. our hosts were great and nothing was a problem, they have well documented reviews and current events printed out giving you a local guide to whats on in the area. many thanks to them for the cake was truly delicious

We had a fabulous time at the coastguard cottage...it was by far the best self catering accommodation we have experienced. The house is fitted out to an extremely high specification. ..sky TV, Bluetooth music system, Woodburner, wifi, and that is before you even look at all the fittings. ..original stone wall in living area, luxury bathroom. .complete with fluffy white towels. Steven and Steph made us very welcome and the wine and tulips on our arrival was very much appreciated. The pic below is the view from our bedroom ...amazing. ..beach on the doorstep. Cannot wait to return ❤

About the neighbourhood
There are 6 golf courses within a 9 mile radius of Cloughey, 2 of which are within 500m, including Kirkistown Castle, a superb 18 hole links course. Beautiful beach and coastal walks are on your doorstep and Portaferry, at the tip of the peninsula on 'the narrows', is only a short drive away (4 miles). Visit Exploris, Northern Irelands only aquarium or take the ferry to the beautiful village of Strangford (5 min crossing) and the National Trust property Castle Ward and the Game of Thrones set. Or take a short drive to the delightful village of Greyabbey on the shores of Strangford Lough with its array of antique shops, and Mount Stewart, a fantastic neo-classical house with its celebrated gardens.
