There are electric radiators throughout the cottage to, the lounge has a TV with Freeview, a DVD player and a small library of books for your entertainment. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, fridge freezer, and dishwasher, plus a washer/dryer. In the bedrooms you will find zip and link beds, allowing for super king or twin bed flexibility. All your duvets, bed linen, and towels are included in your stay, and there is even a travel cot for babies and toddlers. Hedley Hall has sixteen and a half acres of landscaped grounds, with an abundance of wildlife. There is also ample private secure parking for your vehicles. The privacy and space we have is always greatly appreciated by our guests who like to return to us time and time again. Plunge yourself into the culture and timeless beauty of this region and you will be rewarded with memories of splendid days spent here. We are fortunate at Hedley Hall to be in the ideal position for discovering and exploring all the hidden treasures of the region. Situated within a short distance of Beamish Open Air Museum, the Angle of the North Statue, and the great city of Newcastle, you will have the opportunity to experience all the splendid artistic and cultural attractions, as well as fine dining in local restaurants, cafes and bars; while shop-a-holics can spend as much time as they like in the Metro Centre, Eldon Centre and specialist boutiques in Durham City. Slightly further afield, guests can roam the wild coastline which is renowned the world over for its great beauty. Marked as a World Heritage Site, the Northumbrian coast with its castles, stately homes and stunningly beautiful landscapes is a delight to behold. The Scottish Borders make a splendid day out, and are the ideal place to do a spot of salmon and trout fishing on the River Tweed or play a round of golf. Closer to the Hedley Hall you will find the Angel of the North and County Durham, where you can visit Durham Castle, Cathedral and University. Beamish Open Air Museum is literally on our doorstep, and is the perfect place to discover how the North East looked in times gone by. For more historical destinations try the monumental structure that is Hadrian's Wall, or the man made reservoir at Kielder water which is a haven for wildlife, and great for cyclists, walkers, nature lovers, and even has an observatory. Hedley Hall is also perfectly placed for visitors wanting to catch the Tall Ships when they come to the North East later in the year. You can do everything from dry slope skiing, quad biking and gliding, to angling, sea fishing, sailing, golf, tennis, cycling, walking, pony trekking, horse riding and diving. In fact there is so much to do, you’ll need to stay quite a while to enjoy it all!
How to get there
From the A1 heading north or south take exit for Team Valley Retail World. At the large rounderadout take the exit Lamesley. Follow the road to a mini roundabout turn right into Haggs lane. Continue up the road for 1 mile past Lamesley Garden Centre. Follow the road over the cross road take the next left signposted Birkhead Secret Garden and Nursery. Continue to the next set of cross roads go straight over past Birkhead Nursery, continue 1/4 mile then turn left at the sign Hedley Hall Guest Accommodation and Cottages, 500 yards take left fork.
