There is excellent walking country from the doorstep, and we are ideally situated for exploring the wider area, with Durham City, the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Hadrian's Wall country all within an hours drive. The Cottage offers the following features: 4 bedrooms, sleeps 8: 2 king size doubles and two twins (6 beds in all); All made up with Egyptian cotton sheets and duvets. 2 bathrooms, including a luxury main bathroom with spa bath (for one person - it's not a hot-tub). We are ideally situated for exploring the North of England, with Durham City, the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian's Wall country and Newcastle all within about an hour's drive. Bowes Museum, Castles at Raby and Barnard Castle, river and reservoir fishing, fantastic countryside for walking, cycling, running or horse-riding. Barnard Castle is renowned for its many antique shops, and there are also many places to buy and enjoy excellent local food, from traditional tea shops and pubs, to a brand new organic farm shop. The River Tees at Cotherstone has safe areas to paddle and swim.
