Beautiful cottage, Amazing location.
One of the best cottages we've ever stayed in. It was such a surprise when we opened the door to the bright, open beamed cottage. The owners were so welcoming, and all the little extras they put in the cottage really added to the experience. The cottage was very well equipped and the location just stunning. We bar-b-q'd and ate either on the patio or under the trees most days. The walks through the small fields filled with wild flowers that were bordered by dry stone walls and hedgerows and so close to the waters edge where the swans were delighted us all. The children were thrilled to find toys both inside and outside the cottage. So much to see and do in this part of dorset. One week just wasn't enough. We've already booked for 2015. Would recommend to anyone to stay.

Beautiful Getaway Spot..
We stayed at Orchard View for two nights in mid-April 2015. Upon arrival at 8.40pm it was pitch black (as would be expected, and as warned) and thankfully Frank met us and explained about the cottage and helped us in. After we had settled our Toddler we spent the rest of evening in the cottage cooking our dinner in the VERY well equipped Kitchen, and reading up on anything and everything you would want to know of the local area. We were taken aback by the thoughtful and personalised welcome letter, Sparkling Wine and even some chocolates for our little boy (Thank you). Upon waking in the morning and checking out the delights of this charming cottage and the very friendly sheep we met Jacqui, who was very accommodating and helpful, as well as Frank with great tips on places to eat and visit, suitable for us and our little one. The cottage made a great base from which to explore the Jurassic Coast. It's a stone throw from Abbotsbury, where there is a swan sanctuary, the sub-tropical gardens, Childrens Petting Farm and a beautifully maintained local play park. I have to say though the highlight of our stay was at the cottage where we met 2, one hour old Lambs, relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful views and outside space - as we had intended it was a lovely family getaway, and it provided everything that we wanted. See you soon... and with friends :)

Wunderschönes Haus in herrlicher Lage

Amazing location
We had a fantastic week in Orchard Cottage, which is a cosy unsophisticated stone barn set on a peaceful farm. Lovely views onto the orchard and the best thing was the easy access to beautiful walks. I meandered down to sit beside the fleet lagoon for several sunsets. So unbelievably peaceful. Just the sound of lapping water and the occasional call of a bird. The owners Jacqueline and Frank were very welcoming and helpful. We hope to return there soon.

How to get there
Getting to Dorset: By Car: Around a 2 hour drive from the M25 which circles London and the home counties making it an ideal destination for a short break or weekend getaway. Also wonderfully accessible from northern destinations and Wales as it is very well served by the M5 from Bristol. Flying in: Dorset is well served by domestic and European flights with airports situated nearby in Southampton, Bournemouth, Exeter and Bristol. Bournemouth Airport is the closest airport to our cottages, there are car hire facilities on site. By Train: South West trains from London Waterloo stop at Weymouth. Which takes around 2.5 hours. Then From Weymouth train station our cottages are just a 15-20 minute drive by taxi. First Great Western Trains have a service than runs from Bristol and also stops in Weymouth. Some of our walking holiday guests choose to take the train and taxi to their cottage and arrange for a supermarket grocery delivery to their cottage. From where they can walk this part of the South West Coast Path, literally, steps away from the cottage through our farm. By Sea: Dorset is well served by ferries allowing our European guests a convenient option for travelling to Dorset. The nearest port is in Pool. Southampton is the largest ferry port on the south coast and has arrivals from various European points of origin. A public transport ferry service along the Jurassic Coast has been mooted for several years and may become a reality in the near future.
