Perfect week in the perfect cottage!
The Tack Room is, without doubt, the best and most thoughtfully equipped holiday cottage I've ever been to. The attention to detail started before we even arrived with an email from Suzanne with detailed directions to the cottage, and suggestions of places to go and things to do while we were there. I printed it out and we referred to it several times on holiday. Even though we know the area fairly well, we found new places, thanks to Suzanne's suggestions - including the amazing Seacliff Beach.
The cottage itself is spacious and was absolutely immaculate, with the most stunning sea views, particularly from the living room (the bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs; living spaces upstairs to maximise the incredible views).
We had some lovely walks down to Cove, and further afield, from the cottage and managed to cram a lot into our week with trips to North Berwick (a catamaran trip out to Bass Rock and ice cream at Alandas Gelateria), one of our favourite walks round St Abb's Head (preceded by an amazing lunch at Ebbcarrs Café), John Muir Country Park (great for bird spotting when the tide is out), Tantallon Castle and, as mentioned, a day at Seacliff Beach.
It was lovely to come back to somewhere that felt like home - with so many thoughtful little touches that really make a difference. Incredibly well equipped kitchen including things like bin bags, cling film, washing up liquid, laundry tablets etc. Even things like (pretty!) paper napkins and picnic tableware (with a flask!) Lovely decor - gorgeous ornaments and pictures, and things like throws, for if you felt chilly of an evening. There was even a hot water bottle and a first aid kit - I've never stayed anywhere that's provided those. Radios in the bathroom and the kitchen. Games, books, a decent selection of DVDs. Even a pair of binoculars and a bird book on the window ledge in the living room. There honestly was nothing we needed during the week that Suzanne and Margaret hadn't thought of.
The welcome pack was a lovely treat too - really generous. There was even bird food so you could top up the feeder in the courtyard and sit and watch the birds there. Talking of wildlife - we saw hares, rabbits and deer from the cottage and - on the last morning - a kestrel sitting on the wall out the front.
Cannot fault a thing about The Tack Room - we had a magical week and we will definitely be back.

A great place to relax and enjoy the view
Hosts are lovely. My wife is celiac and the welcome gift set contained M&S gluten free googies which were most welcome along with the other essentials like milk and butter. Our dog cleo also got ball instead if food treats, very thoughtful. Cottage is lovely and clean and very well equipped the two shower rooms/toilets were handy. Location is ideal if you want peace and quiet and lovely seaviews. The dog walks to the harbour and along the coast are great for first thing i the morning and if you are feeling uo for more of an adventure you can go further. We found the cottage ideal for going further into scotland or back into england along the coastal route. Edinburgh is handy either by car or train. Dunbar has a great dining experience in the 1902 restraunt and we enjoyed Berwick and surrounding beaches which can be walked onto. Again lively cottage in a lovely lication and grest views from the window

Wonderful Stay
Had a fantastic holiday staying in this beautiful well equipped holiday house. With 4 adults and 2 children there was plenty of room.
Easy distance to enjoy a day out in Edinburgh.
We ventured to the Cove, well worth the walk down the hill and through the tunnel. Also the coastal walk to Pease Bay is beautiful but not suitable for pushchairs etc. Both walks started at the house.
Would not hesitate to recommend to friends.
Thanks again for a wonderful stay xx

An absolute gem
The Tack Room, Cove, is a hidden gem in its own right.
Set within the picturesque area of Cockburnspath on the East coast of Scotland we were pleasantly surprised by the ideal position of its location, a mere stones throw away from the A1 yet with no or very minimal noise intrusion depending on which way the wind is blowing.
Located a short 5 minute walking distance away from the Southern Upland Way coastal footpath path offering amazing views and right on the doorstep of the picture perfect Cove harbour. The walk to the harbour itself not very demanding and great fun for the children as we walked through the tunnel bored through the red sandstone cliff.
A short distance away 2 minutes by car we spent some days on the golden sands of Pease Bay. Parking is available courtesy of Pease Bay holiday park, access through the park to the beach where we enjoyed the clear waters, rock climbing and hunting for crabs when the tide was out.
We also caught a glimpse of the marine life with a visitor as it swam by at a distance, possibly a minke whale.
The Tack Room cottage was perfect for us, a family of 7 (including 5 children) and our dog. The accommodation felt spacious. WiFi was strong and coped well when in good use during the late evenings allowing us to enjoy some well needed quiet time off our feet sipping the wonderful wine left for us by the owners.
It certainly felt like a home from home with all the necessities needed from towels to the kitchenware we were well accommodated so no need to fret.
It was clean and bright, modernised within.
Plenty of hot water on demand, two shower rooms, comfortable beds and pillows.
Overall an excellent holiday, great accommodation and amazing surroundings.
Highly recommended.

Beautiful Scottish cottage
Gorgeous cottage in a superb location. The cottage had everything we could need, even our dog was carefully thought about with
A bowl of water and biscuits on arrival . The welcome pack was fabulous and a real treat to have with lots of essentials and treats. The cove is less than a ten minute walk through stunning surroundings and really is a beautiful and quiet place to spend time . There are some fabulous beaches nearby -Coldingham,Eyemouth,North Berwick etc. We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer . We will definitely look towards holidaying here again in the near future .

Beautiful and quiet apartment close to the sea
A very nice, well equipped and nicely furnished vacation apartment in an old farmhouse. With sea view from the living room and kitchen on the second floor. Walking distance to the sea with nice walks on the cliffs. Good connection by car to Edinburgh (about 40 min). We were a bit skeptical at first because of the proximity to the A1, but the apartment is shielded from the street by other buildings and it is absolutely quiet in the apartment.

We had a great holiday in the tackroom. There are lots of lovely beaches nearby and it's a great base to explore Edinburgh and Northumberland. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had lots of thoughtful touches such as binoculars by the window, beach equipment to borrow and a lovely welcome pack. We enjoyed the sea view and watching hares out of the window.

Perfect Getaway Cottage
Really lovely cottage with beautiful sea views, peaceful and a great base to explore the surrounding area. Just felt instantly at peace after we arrived and got settled in. Lovely decor, with beautiful art on the walls, nice deocrative touches throughout, and a really well-equipped cottage. The hosts are fantastic, providing quick communication and lots of info as well as a lovely welcome basket full of goodies. Its obvious they've taken great care with the property and we felt so comfortable and at home there. There are 2 shower rooms which is extremely handy for a family of 4. Very comfortable beds with quality bedding which makes all the difference. We did lots during our week and it was always a pleasure to get back to the cottage for a drink and to relax and look at the view. Highly recommend the Rib Ride at St Abbs just down the coast, aka 'New Asgard' for any Marvel fans out there!
