Great holiday on the East Coast of Scotland
We enjoyed the cosy cottage with its beautiful views over the sea and the many personal touches inside which made it feel like home. Well appointed kitchen, good books and games and tasteful seaside decorations. A super base for a holiday!

Beautiful restful cottage by the sea
The cottage was all we could have asked for - we had adult children visit and stay during the fortnight, with a young child and dog. Perfect for everyone and so relaxing. The cottage has everything you could need - very well equipped with plenty of room. The two shower rooms make it great for bigger families ! Beautiful beaches nearby and all very child and dog friendly. The wee garden is a sun trap - lovely in the evenings after a day on the beach. It would be a perfect break at any time of year - the views are stunning. I think we will be back !!

Beach heaven.
If you enjoy going to different beaches, this is your base to stay. There are 5 different types within a 10 minute drive, 1 of which is enormous. The house is well provided for and meticulous covid precautions in place. Just be aware that sleeping is downstairs to maximise the views of the sea in the living room. An excellent arrival parcel plus covid items was an excellent bonus. Communications before visit were excellent. I

Fabulous holiday home
Very well equipped home in lovely location. Easy to get to from A1 however only very occasional noise reminded you it was nearby. Great walking - coastal path, southern upland way, John Muir way all nearby not to mention stubble fields. Margaret responded to queries rapidly and helpfully. The welcome pack and other supplies made it an easy house to stay in. Spotlessly clean on arrival. Left very relaxed after a great holiday.

Very comfortable cottage
Very clean and comfortable cottage with lovely sea views. A quiet location with pleasant walks nearby. Owners give more than adequate information both by email and literature inside the cottage. It is also very well equipped with a very excellent welcome pack that was much appreciated.

Just booked for a fifth time
Excellent accommodation with view across the Firth of Forth. Cosy atmosphere in the well appointed holiday cottage. The scenic walks and cycle routes are enjoyable with testing hills and descents for the keen cyclist with little or no traffic. Places of interest are the Museum of Flight, Myreton Motor Museum, National Trust properties Edinburgh Festival and quiet harbours. A relaxing holiday with Dunbar in easy reach for food and restaurants.

Perfect relaxing getaway
My girlfriend & I were lucky enough to stay at the Tack Room during one of the sunniest weeks of the year and made use of the stunning local beaches (The amazing Cove Harbour was only a short walk away)! Our hosts Margaret & Suzanne met us on arrival and couldn't have been more friendly & helpful. We felt right at home straight away and got lots of great information about local trips and walks (we took day trips to Berwick, Dunbar and St Abbs Nature Reserve. The apartment had everything we could want for our stay: the bedrooms were comfy and cosy, the kitchen was clean and well stocked with a large dining table, the living areas were bright and airy with great views and having two bathrooms was useful. There was plenty of room throughout the property so I would thoroughly recommend the tack room for couples and larger groups/families alike! I’m looking forward to coming back soon!

Look no further
Four of us fetched up at the Tack Room, warmly greeted by the owners, ( Margaret and Suzanne) who showed us the house, explained all the relevant stuff and answered any questions. Once they departed we were pleasantly surprised by the comprehensive and thoughtful welcome pack, which included a treat for the dog. The good news didn’t stop there. The Tack Room was spotless throughout, being tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped, especially in the kitchen. Moreover, the property is handy for the post office and shop at Cockburnspath. There are an abundance of DVDs and games galore for wet days but when the weather is fine - which it was all week - there are lots of places to visit, including Eyemouth, St Abbs, Coldingham and Edinburgh. After a day’s enjoyment, it was a real pleasure to return the Tack Room, where just sitting in the upstairs lounge gazing out to sea was immensely pleasurable. We can’t wait to return and explore the nearby castles and the costal path, plus the delights of Cove harbour. The Tack Room is the supreme base from which to enjoy the borders.

Wonderful upside down cottage, well equipped, superb views
The owners could not have been kinder, met us personally and tailored the welcome pack to suit our dietary needs. The cottage is comfy and very clean with views to die for. You live upstairs and sleep downstairs. The walks looked wonderful but I was limited thanks to a broken arm and a return visit is on the cards. There’s lots to do and see in the area and local farm shops to tempt you.

Thank you very much for your lovely review. We're glad you both enjoyed staying at the Tack Room. We try to make the property as welcoming and well-equipped as possible so guests have plenty to do even if they have to spend time indoors. Glad you managed to explore the local farm shops. There are certainly lots of lovely little shops and art galleries nearby. Dunbar and North Berwick High Streets are both worth a visit. We're looking forward to welcoming you back to the Tack Room - hopefully 100% fighting fit. Margaret
