A comfortable and well equipped cottage in the pleasent market town of Pickering situated at the foot of the North York Moors. 17 Hallgarth is a family run business which aims to provide a home from home.

Please note that for 7 night stays our changeover day is Friday. We do offer short breaks and flexibility is sometimes possible so please ask.

The cottage is extremely well equipped with accomodation for up to four people plus two infants in travel cots. We can provide travel cots, stair gates and a high chair on request.

Accomodation consists of a double bedroom (one double bed) on the first floor and a twin room (two single beds) in the attic. There is a well equipped bathroom with both bath and shower and an extremely well equipped kitchen containing a washer/dryer and dishwasher in addition to the usual fridge, freezer, cooker...

Interaction with guests
Access to our cottage is via a keysafe. We live in the town of Pickering and guests will have access to our contact numbers during their stay. We are happy to advise guests on any issue that arise and will always do our best to promptly deal with any unexpected problems which may occur. There is a comprehensive information folder in the cottage which contains information about the cottage and also the locality and an excellent selection of information leaflets to help guests discover the area.

We loved staying in this traditional 2 bed cottage. It was spotless and had a lovey long back garden which is a sun trap. We were lucky with the weather. There are many books and DVDs for those guests who want to read or just...More

Needed a pet friendly rental in Pickering. The location was good with private parking. Please note this is at the rear of the property on Whitby Road... not completely easy to locate which was the right entrance. Look for Sage green wooden gates which fold...More

Deceptively spacious cottage in perfect location for all town amenities. Lovely secluded garden and safe off road parking plus and very pleasant welcome hamper. Will certainly return.

Pickering is within easy reach of the North York Moors and the coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough. The town has plenty of independent shops as well as banks, supermarkets and a good selection of places to eat. Pickering is home to the North York Moors railway which run steam and heritage diesel trains throughout the year. There is also a castle and a museum within the town.

Pickering has good bus services which covers popular destinations such as Whitby, Scarborough and the North York Moors. The nearest mainline train station is Malton approx 8 miles away.

Pickering is easily reached by road. There is private off road parking for one vehicle available at the cottage and unrestricted on road parking available on a first come first served basis at the front. Please note that the rear parking is accessed from the A169 and not from Hallgarth itself. If you click on the map on this listing you will be able to see this and also note the arrow which indicates how to access the A169 from Hallgarth.
