Shearwater is a quiet four bed roomed Victorian town house furnished and equipped and maintained to a high standard, with each room having its own distinctive character. The house is close to family-friendly activities, nightlife, public transport, coastal walks and the town centre. Its cosy and clean and you're just a minutes walk from the seafront or the town centre. We provide unlimited fibre broadband plus (64 - 80mb) and a smart TV for those times when you want to 'put your feet up.' We've been 'going greener' and have already been awarded Green Tourism's Bronze Award. The house is adorned with various art works mainly reflecting the local landscape and its rich wildlife. Perfect Seaside Accommodation

Stylish town house in the heart of town Handy to cafes pubs and the sea!!! Easy access to train bus links to Belfast and Strangford The secluded garden was a real plus ... a real find !!

A cut above, excellent!

Great location, within walking distance to town centre and seafront. Well decorated comfortable home from home. Very high standard furniture, kitchen equipment and utensils. The warm welcome we received from our hosts got our holiday off to a great start! Highly recommended!

Absolutely the best self catering place we have ever stayed.

Shearwater is situated in the town centre close to some lovely pubs with good grub. Bangor is well placed to drive to most of the attractions in North Down. We could not find any fault with Shearwater or Geoff who made our stay as comfortable...More

About the neighbourhood
There's some great places to enjoy a pint or eat in the town. Uniquely there are three great pubs in a row at the end of the road - Fealtys, Jenny Watts and Donegans and generally speaking there's some music or entertainment going on there most evenings. There's the curiously named coastal pubs come restaurants - the Rabbit Rooms, Salty Dog and a long way from Cornwall, the Jamaica Inn and some great independent cafes, The Guillemot and Cafe Brazilia for example. People in Northern Ireland eat ice cream out on the streets all year round so there's five ice cream parlours within five minutes of Shearwater if that takes your fancy. Mckeowns on the High Street is one of those good old fashioned quality fishmongers. Your close to the hubbub of the town and the marina but far enough away not...
Getting around
The railway and bus station are a few minutes away and there are taxi HQ at the High Street end of Albert Street. Trains to Belfast are frequent and there are express trains, but either way the journey alongside Belfast Lough is scenic.Express trains will take you 15 minutes to reach the centre of Belfast but you can stay on the train to visit Lisburn and other destinations. Change at Belfast for more distant locations Derry / Londonderry, Dublin etc.
