Outstanding location; even better cottage
Without a doubt, the coziest, most lovely stay in Scotland! The host is incredibly gracious and the cottage is the best kept one I've ever stayed at. I cannot recommend Roe Deer Cottage enough!

Excellent accommodation in an excellent location
We had a very comfortable and enjoyable week at Roe Deer cottage. The cottage was lovely, spacious, very well kept, in a great location with amazing scenery. Great additional touches with welcome basket from Elaine. local soap products (thank you!), and lots of information provided about things to do, local surroundings, services and places to eat and drink. A great place to stay to explore the area, and so many walks to do, lochs to view and mountains and wonderful places to take in! Glencoe nearby and Fort William a 20 min drive.

Excellent cottage in a great location
We spent two weeks at Roe Deer Cottage and from the moment we arrived it was perfect. Elaine was very welcoming and helpful, the cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed. There was a lovely tray of treats and the Highland Soap Co products were very much appreciated. The views from the cottage are amazing and it is so peaceful. There are plenty of local walks it is also a great base for hiking the Glencoe munros ,exploring the Fort William area and Oban. We also managed a trip to mull after a recommendation from Elaine on the best ferry routes to take. One of the best self catering cottages we have stayed in, would return and certainly recommend.

Perfect Accommodation
Roe Deer Cottage was the perfect get away in every way. Loads of space to park & easy access to the property as the lovely owner meets you there & shows you round. It smelt beautiful & was spotlessly clean in every room. No expense has been spared & even the hand soap & creams match & are high quality. We didn’t have good weather for the week we were there but it was a pleasure to spend time in the cottage. When the sun did come out briefly, it’s great to sit out on the picnic table provided & look at the hills whilst enjoying a drink. I didn’t want to post this review as I don’t want the cottage to be constantly booked up for when we want to go back but it’s only fair that Roe Deer Cottage & it’s lovely owner, get the credit they deserve. We will be back!!

Very comfortable, great position
Very comfortable, very well-equipped in a quiet location on the road that circles Loch Leven, set well back from the road on a shared site with the owners property and farm. We were greeted by 2 lovely Herwick sheep on the adjacent field. There is also a lovely tabby cat that came to check up on us each day. There was a lovely quality welcome hamper of local products and the bathrooms were well-stock with Highland Soap products ( we later visited their factory and café at Fort William). There is a lot of terrific scenery a short drive away, the circuit of Loch Leven has many interesting stops such as the Callart Mausoleum, Seafood café and deli, Mare's tail waterfalls at Kinlochleven. Also the Lochan walks at Glencoe and the Quarry at Ballaculish give great low-level walks.

Relaxing stay at Roe Deer Cottage
We recently stayed for a week at Roe Deer Cottage. Booking with Elaine was very easy and straightforward. From the outset she was friendly and helpful. On arrival, we felt really welcome and the cottage was very clean, warm and homely, with a couple of essentials and treats provided All the utensils, fixtures and fittings are like new and great quality. During our stay, Elaine was kind and helpful and no one could be a better host. The cottage is peaceful and surrounded by some of Britain's most dramatic and beautiful scenery. Thank you to Elaine for a wonderful and relaxing break and hope to see you again soon. Best wishes, Ruth and David

Immaculate and beautifully presented cottage
Wow, what a beautifully kept cottage. In 25 years of self catering both at home and abroad, we have never had the pleasure of staying in such a clean and immaculate cottage. We felt like we were the first ever guests! Elaine and Angus are lovely friendly hosts, on hand if required whilst also respecting your privacy. The generous welcoming basket and chilled wine was a lovely surprise and the luxury toiletries were a real treat. The accommodation is very comfortable with a great mattress on the King sized bed and electric recliners, great for relaxing in of an evening. The outside patio, chair and picnic table are ideal for a BBQ with only a field of 4 sheep for company. The cottage is well situated, with open aspects and access to mountains. The cycle route from North Ballachulish to Oban is a delight as it uses mostly disused railway. However, we mostly went to climb the mountains in the breath takingly beautiful Glencoe. I cannot recommend Roe Deer Cottage highly enough and we very much hope to include ourselves in the growing list of repeat guests.

Complete Relaxation
A beautiful cottage with excellent amenities. Our first visit to the Highlands and we will definitely be back. There are so many amazing places to explore from the doorstep and further afield. The cottage has everything you need and was clean and immaculately presented. The fresh air and the comfy beds resulted in the best sleep I've had in a long time. Thank you Elaine and family.
