Interaction with guests
This year unfortunately I won't be able to welcome you personally but my friend Matthieu who is also a very efficient professional will do as well as I would, and will give you all the information you might need about the area. I can lend you a canoe and a stand-up paddle, and some (old) bikes including a tandem bike (really nice experience)

About the neighbourhood
Saint-Jacut is a charming peninsula between two bays, and its peculiar position added to a tide flow that goes very far in and out gives it a added charm : on sunny days, the sea is warmer than elsewhere on the coast because the water has come back on the heated sand.... The village has a traditionnal feel, with several very french cafés, and restaurants. There are walks around the peninsula, high up the cliff or down on the beach at low tide (around 2 hours to walk around the peninsula), there is also an ancient norman castle at walking distance from the village, and a couple of seals to be observed nearby. On the peninsula, there are many nautical sports to be practiced, you name it.. and kitesurfing is a must if you like sensation. Then in the surrounding Côtes dArmor, you will find ple... more
Getting around
You can spend a lovely beach and walk holiday ignoring the roads and do it all by foot as there are lots of marked long-, medium- and short-range footpaths. Occasionnally you might use the bus service (not very frequent unfortunately). If you want to enjoy the area and see the many touristic sights, it's better to have a car !

Railway: Saint Malo: 25.0 km
Ferry: Saint Malo: 25.0 km
If you prefer to fly, there are some direct flights from London Stansted to Dinard Pleurtuit with Ryanair. A taxi will get you to St Jacut in 15 minutes. Coming by ferry with your car, you will want to go west on the coast, therefore you need to find from the ferry port the direction Barrage de la Rance and cross this tidal dam which is the only one in Europe to produce electricity with tide. The main direction to follow afterwards is : Ploubalay, Saint-Brieuc par la côte, then Saint-Jacut de la Mer will be shown on road signs from the exit side of Ploubalay. The house sits in the first part of the high street (Grande Rue) on the left, about 100 yards after the beginning of the one-way main street. From the train station in Saint-Malo, taxis and some buses are available to Ploubalay and Sa... more
