Interaction with guests
The barn is in the grounds of our main house but is completely separate and private although the pool is outside of the garden but is for the sole use of the guests. The pool has a safety gates for the little ones and a paddling pool. .Our friend Sophie is looking after the guests and is around if you need help and will greet you on arrival. The surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful and the children have lots of room to play and run around. If you bring your bikes you can go for miles without two many hills and the roads are empty of traffic about one car a day passes the house usually the postman. At night you can have a good nights sleep.

The pressoir is situated deep in the countryside and is perfect for a great 'getaway'. The town of Bernay is within easy access and has beautiful timbered buildings and a large market on a Saturday. If you want beaches they are about 45 mins away....More

About the neighbourhood
Although the barn is deep in the countryside it is easy to get to different places and restaurants. Bernay has many good places to eat and is a busy high street with a great market on a Saturday. There is a large market on a Tuesday in L'Aigle it is one of the biggest in Normandy. The local bakers is in Broglie and is the best around, they bake on the premises amazing selection of cakes and bread.
A new restaurant has opened in Broglie which is excellent.
Brionne has lakes where you can fish with a licence, mini golf ,pedalo boats.

The area is famous for Calvados and all the restaurants will have it
There is a great Zoo in Cerza near Lisieux it is a well put together safari park seeing giraffe and rhino in the heart of the Normandy.
Getting around
You need a car to get around as most places are a few miles away. Great for cycling, running or hiking.
Long walks on empty lanes enjoying the widlife and seeing the open skies is something I am always amazed at, and I have been here for 15 years.
The stars on a clear night are wonderful just sit outside and enjoy.

Follow the signs to St Aubin du Thenney at the village take the left turning in front of the church and follow the road round till you see a sign on the right for La Touque.
