This small oasis, nature retreat Bela Natureza, is about 35 minutes walk to the charming seaside village of Arembepe which hosts the successful marine turtle conservation space Projeto TAMAR, about an hour drive away from the culturally-rich city of Salvador da Bahia, and a half-hour drive from international airport of Salvador.

The area of the retreat Bela Natureza is large with many old trees offering nice shade and a chance to cool down. It provides guests with countless opportunities to roam around, be at one with nature, collect mangoes, meditate, and even do yoga or light sports. Here, we offer rental of two little ecological earth lodges and a double suite, named according to the native singing birds: Sabiá, Bem-Te-Vi, and Curió. Each is constructed in a traditional Native Brazilian adobe style from local materials and topped with a handsome thatched roof. The lodges are equipped with modern facilities and internet access, making them suitable for those wishing to engage in creative pursuits such as taking a sabbatical, writing or painting.

Bem-Te-Vi is a cozy lodge with a large and comfortable double bed to accommodate two people. It is equipped with a private bathroom, desk, and storage space designed and made by local artisans. It is perfectly balanced with modern amenities and a warm shower. Bem-Te-Vi is ideal for those looking to work remotely in a relaxing environment, with wifi available throughout, and plenty of accessible sockets within for charging electrical appliances.

For all our guests, we prepare and offer complimentary continental breakfast with tasty regional goodies and tropical fruit. Moreover all guests are welcome to use the refreshment area and all common areas of the retreat, such as the swimming pool, meditation pavilion or hammocks amongst the mango trees. You will have the use of these spaces for most of the day, however, the holistic center occasionally runs healing courses or eco-workshops at which times some of them will be occupied.

Our guests will have the unique opportunity to interact with our many friendly and healthy dogs. The dogs are a great source of affection, relaxation and healing. They are an integral part of the retreat, and we hope that guests will be happy to spend time with them. We’re sure their doggy bliss will rub off on you!

We would like to ensure a completely stress-free stay for the guests. The retreat area is vast, and being here feels like visiting a natural park with friendly dogs, mango trees, wild flowers, and pineapple plants. Sometimes you could spot little monkeys called “miquinhos”, and other small lively creatures. Guests will be able to feel comfortable and at ease, as the large natural area is only shared with our small team and a few other guests (up to 6 people).

The external refreshment area is surrounded by nature, and equipped with a microwave, a traditional clay oven, and a coffeemaker. A well-maintained swimming pool provides a soothing feel on a warm day. Guests have a private entrance to the property, and the cabin can be securely locked.

We run our nature retreat Bela Natureza along principles of environmental preservation, positive energetic balance, reuse and recycling. We kindly will ask our guests to respect this.

Our space welcomes kids as well; it is suitable for children from 6 years on, if they are familiar with dogs and like them. Our family of dogs is very sweet and friendly to our guests, but they have their natural territorial instinct, therefore, we are not able to invite guest with pets.

It is possible to arrange airport pick up for the guests, if they arrive during daytime, for an additional fee. This may be discussed with us directly. Also, guests can take an official taxi from the international airport of Salvador (guests can buy the ticket inside the airport building, which costs about 160 RS).

We would like to let you know more about the option of having a guided tour to the historic city of Salvador da Bahia, or to many places of interest further up the coast such as Praia do Forte, Imbassai, Mangue Seco, and other interesting beaches, rivers and natural reserves, as well to Chapada Diamantina.

Evelyn is such a lovely host and she made us feel at home at the same time that she introduced us to the Brazilian culture.
The cabin where we slept was gorgeous and surrounded by the amazing Brazilian nature. Overall, an amazing experience we would love to repeat.

"Maravillosos días en contacto con la naturaleza"
Arembe es una preciosa localidad, ubicada al norte de Bahía. Realmente se puede disfrutar de la playa, del contacto con la cultura del pueblo y con sus grandiosos platos típicos. Estuvimos durante dos semanas en Retreat Bela Natureza que se encuntra a minutos de la costa.
Disfrutamos profundamente del amor de la hermosa familia canina y de Evelyn. Ellos fueron quienes nos dieron la bienvenida.
Cada mañana disfrutamos de deliciosos desayunos y actividades con la naturaleza. Aprendimos sobre el cuidado de los cachorros y realizamos meditaciones y actividades saludables con un grupo hermoso de personas.
Recomendamos visitar Retreat Bela Natureza, se puede disfrutar de la paz y buscar la sanación desde el contacto con la naturaleza.

2 week retreat
Only gratitude for these 2 weeks spent here. This Retreat is a little dog’s paradise in which you can be in contact with nature and ancient trees and all the elements feeling the love and affection of a whole family of 13 dogs. All with different personalities you end up falling in love with each one of them and learn to care about them. It was a great experience.

Estadia maravilhosa no Retreat Bela Natureza
Minha estadia no Retreat Bela Natureza foi deliciosa e memorável :) o local é tranquilo, a comida é deliciosa, os cachorros são absolutamente adoráveis e a Evelyn é uma pessoa linda. A localização é muito boa, próximo a diversas atrações e belezas naturais. Reconendadíssimo!

A beautiful nature retreat good for the soul
This is a beautiful retreat in the lovely town of arembepe. I enjoyed my stay so much and loved the company of the dogs who each have a different personality and make you feel extremely welcome. I would LOVE to visit again. Evelyn was a fabulous host and really cares for your needs. She treats you as a family member and for that I am every greatful. I took part in yoga and singing bowls in the beautiful pavillion. Being immersed in the beautiful nature was so good for the soul. I am extremely greatful for my stay there!

Sacred Space for Healing
Retreat Bela Natureza is a sacred space for healing. It's my second time at the Retreat and, like the last, it's been transformative. Before arriving, I was feeling unbalanced and exhausted — and the Revitalize package was exactly what I needed to restore my energy. The experience of deeply connecting with nature (gathering fresh fruit from the land, swimming in the ocean, dancing around a fire, listening to the birds sing, playing with the resident family of dogs, etc) has brought me back to life. And, Evelyn's ability to truly see someone, hold space and offer the healing practice(s) needed is a gift. I highly recommend the Retreat and exploring all it has to offer. I'm already planning my next trip back!

Un espacio lleno de vitalidad y hermosa energia
Retreat Bela Natureza es un espacio bellisimo para conectarse con uno mismo y con los demas a traves de naturaleza, las plantas, los árboles y sobre todo la familia de perros. Tuvimos experiencias de meditaciones con cuencos y perros y fueron experiencias maravillosas. El aire puro, el silencio y los sobidos naturales permiten honrar la abundancia, el amor, la compañía y el aprendizaje.
El desayuno es excelente, incluye pan, mantequilla, dulces, varios tipos de quesos, huevos revueltos u omelette, torta y budines, frutas, jugo de fruta natural, cafe y te, entre otros. También puede incluir almuerzo, merienda y cena con menu muy completo. Las cabañas son muy confortables.
Esta muy cerca de la playa de Arembepe, aldea hippie y projecto tamar de tortugas y praia do forte.
Recomiendo mucho!

A magical little forest to nurture your heart and body
Retreat Bela Natureza is a refreshing corner in the surroundings of the wonderful village of Arembepe where we could relax our bodies and minds with the pack of magical dogs. It was the first time for us to experience meditation led by dogs, or even hear that such healing was possible -- and it really was an extraordinary experience!
We were lodged in the room Bem Te Vi -- a cozy cottage under the mango and coconut trees equipped with the basic necessities which was flooded with the birds singing in the mornings.
Every morning we had a table filled with fresh and juicy fruits, mostly picked from their own trees, that helped us start the day with our bellies happy :-)
I highly recommend this place, but be careful -- you may not want to leave!

Peaceful, natural accomodation
My girlfriend and I stayed in Evelyn's traditional adobe lodge for a week and it's an amazing resting place, with good service. Even though the lodge is not so big, we found it perfect to rest and spend the night. It's very cosy and because of the custom furniture you have enough space for everything. Toilet and shower are working well. The provided mosquito net helps a lot during the night.
The sitio itself is a place of calm full of nature and plants, trees and animals. The meals that are prepared are amazing and healthy. The fruits and vegetables are coming from the sitio or from an organic farm nearby.
We would very much recommend this lodge and thank Evelyn and her 15 dogs for our nice stay!

Time into Nature
Me and my boyfriend got here in this wonderful Sitio immersed into Nature after a long time travelling around South America, and it was exactly what we needed. Evelyn gave us all information to get here safely and she has been a lovely and welcoming host throughout all our stay. We had our own cabana (little bungalow) where to stay, which was very comfortable and quiet during the night. As soon as we walked out in the early morning we were surrounded by a huge gorgeus garden full of mango trees and beautiful plants that helped us reconnect to Nature and our own selves. Evelyn offered us every morning delicious breakfasts made of organic and fresh fruits and vegetables, which was lovely. We had a few retreat sessions with her family of sixteen dogs, introduced by some meditation time led by Evelyn herself. It was an amazing experience being in contact with the dogs which invited us to share and give them love. Being much more of a cat lover myself, I was impressed how well I immediately got on with the dogs and how lovely and quiet they have been during our stay. I will truly miss them!
I absolutely recommend Evelyn's place to anyone looking for reconnection with Nature and detox from everyday stressful routine. And of course all dog and animal lovers would be so pleased to spend time with this wonderful family of dogs.
