Comfortable, private and spacious. The Picasso Studio is a loft type studio with a softly eclectic feel, situated on the 2nd floor (3rd floor by U.S. standards) of our B & B and is suitable for couples and families. It is only 400 meters /450 yrds, a 5 minute stroll from the Medieval centre of Sarlat with it's famous market and restaurants and nestled in a tranquil garden environment. The Picasso Studio has private entrance and private terrace with table, chairs and parasol, partly overlooking the woodland garden where BBQ facilities are at your disposal. The grounds extend to 2400 m2 and all three gardens are available for guests to sit and relax in. The grounds extend to 2400 m2 and all three gardens are available for guests to sit and relax in. The gardens include the Koi pond garden, popular with guests for enjoying a picnic lunch or an evening glass of wine, the woodland garden with raised bed 'home grown' allotment area and the small, more formal front garden area with palm trees., The Studio offers two sleeping areas including 3 beds: 1x 160 cos, 1x 140 cos, 1x 120 cms. and comfortably sleeps up to a maximum of 5 guests. The sitting area has a large banquette type sofa, coffee table and large screen T.V. - (English language or French) plus ceiling fan and air conditioning. The kitchenette has a breakfast bar, fridge, sink, induction double hob, electric kettle, coffee maker, microwave, crockery and cutlery. There are also of course, en suite shower room facilities. Free parking is available within the grounds. The Studio is non-smoking. Free WiFi available. We have three small friendly dogs elsewhere on the property, they do not have access to guest rooms, however unfortunately this makes it unsuitable to accept guest pets. Linens, towels and bedding provided. Breakfast is available as an optional extra at €9 per person per day. The beautiful Medieval centre of Sarlat is a short 5 minutes (400 m) stroll. For lovers of history, the centre is filled with original buildings from the 14th c , with winding cobbled streets filled with restaurants for the gourmand., this is duck and foie gras central ! The historic centre is also on the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage ... Renowned Sarlat market on Wednesday and Saturday is filled with fruits and vegetables, cheeses, truffles and oils, conserves and confits. You won't fail to be impressed by the huge arched doors of the indoor market, stuffed to the gunnels with local produce. Relax in 'La Place' (the square) on balmy Summer evenings with a glass of wine and soak in the ambience! Free pick up/drop off at Sarlat rail station offered.More

About the neighbourhood
Dordogne region Described by Rick Steves as “an under the radar region of France” with traditional villages where you can sample the local foods of the “terroir” that’s to say of the local region. This is duck and foie gras central so eat them to your hearts content in the many restaurants in Sarlat, La Roque Gageac and Baynac. When you need a change, let us know and we can recommend an alternative!
Getting around
Whilst a car is not needed for a short stay in Sarlat, for ease of transport to the caves, chateaux, gardens villages and other wonderful sights of the region, a car is very much recommended as public transport is poor. Taxis are available and we can recommend. The train station of Sarlat is 1 kilometre from here and with notice we will happily pick up and drop off there.
