A fully equipt country holiday home set at the foot of the Montange Noire (Black Mountains) on the fringe of a National Park in Aussillion Village. Je pense que cette location n'est plus proposée à la location de vacances, dommage car d'après les avis positifs ça nous aurait intéressé.

What an excellent base for a brilliant summer holiday. This holiday home is one of the best houses and locations we have stayed in. Mick and Liz have a very relaxed and friendly approach which is so refreshing and sets the scene for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The house is so comfortable and really spacious - the photographs are good but when you arrive you immediately see how much attention has been taken to preserve all the beautiful details of this lovely building. Aussillion Village is just gorgeous and only 2 km from Mazamet which has lots going on in July and we found the local residents to be really friendly - there is free local bus service from the village to Mazamet too! The location of La Maison Aliehsa means that you are well placed to explore and enjoy the sites without having to spend hours in the car and there are good swimming lakes within 10 mins and a terrific water park in Castres a short 15 minutes drive away. The house is a real home from home, well equipped and furnished to a high standard. We would definitely recommend the house to anyone looking to have a lovely relaxing holiday. Thanks Mick and Liz for a brilliant summer holiday!!

This was a half-term trip for 2 adults and 2 children (age 8). After picking up a hire car from the airport we had about an hours scenic drive on the mountain road to the house which is situated in the quaint village of Aussillon. This house has been lovingly restored by the owners and affords everything you would need for a relaxing holiday. The house has been modernised whilst retaining lots of lovely original features giving the house a warm, homely and 'traditionally French' feel. The modern kitchen/diner is of a high standard and you will find all the kitchen implements, pots, pans and crockery that you need. The 3 double bedrooms have a traditional feel, two being en-suite and of good hotel standard. The bedrooms are spacious and airy and there's lots of storage space. There is a separate toilet/shower room in the hall way which was great for the boys dashing in and out. The lounge is bright and airy and very comfortable. The lounge has a wonderful wood burner that generates a lot of heat. We were lucky with the weather this week so we only used it once. There is a DVD player and lots of films available to view and Sky TV if you need to keep up with your soaps. We also had free wi-fi which was a bonus for us. Outside the property are amazing gardens which were overall the best bit of our holiday. As I said the weather was very kind to us so we spent lots of time outside, enjoying a glass of wine, watching the boys having a ball making dens and having good old fashioned fun. We hired a car for the holiday and enjoyed days out in Carcassonne, Castres and Albi. We also visited the Limousis Caves and Le lac de Montagnes along with visiting lots of other little villages and towns along the way. We did most of our shopping in Mazamet which has artisan butchers and bakers and a fantastic wine shop, La Cave, with a very helpful English lady owner to advise. There is a Le Clerc on the outskirts of the town along with other shopping outlets. Overall we had an amazing week relaxing in the house and enjoying exploring the local area. Whilst there the neighbours introduced themselves and offered to help in any way if we needed it which we thought was a kind gesture. They also humoured our Halloween 'trick or treat' which pleased the boys and let them mix with some local children. We would definitely recommend this gorgeous house and hope to return in the summer months to explore some of the coastal towns. On asking the boys what they enjoyed the most they replied " all of it" which suits us and is the best recommendation of all.

We were well provided for in this superbly renovated house. The bathroom and kitchen - well all areas are spotlessly clean. A lovely location for some great walks - we loved that we could roll out of bed and have a good walk before breakfast. Supermarket in village - you will need a car.

You need a car if you want to explore the surrounding towns. Ensure you take walking boots. You can eat cheaply and there are some good restaurants nearby. The villa is fully equipped and very homely.
