A few issues
We had few issues during our stay that we relayed to the host. These issues could have easily been sorted but unfortunately Selina has been abrupt about it and has labelled me as a ‘particular guest’. It’s a shame as the Coach House is nice and in a good location. I wouldn’t recommend anyone dealing with a host like this. *mould around shower *dirty kettle *holes in bed sheets * oven fault (sparking at the switch) I was basically called a liar and that I had been looking for faults. I couldn’t use the oven during our stay due to an electricial fault, so I would call this a big issue.

Hi Chantel, You booked through Airbnb. They looked into your complaints, as did I, about the ‘issues’ you perceived, and found them to be groundless. So I’m surprised that you persist in posting about the groundkess issues on another site! The guests who stayed immediately before and after you found no faults. I’ve tried to resolve your concerns in a fair and reasonable manner. We are very proud of our many happy guests and excellent review ratings .

Simply Faultless...
We booked Ivythorpe Coach house very last minute due to problems with another property we were booked at! What can I say... it was meant to be!! Ivythorpe Coach house was stunning!! The Decor beautiful & classy! Everything was spotlessly clean and had everything you would need with a well stocked kitchen... coffee machine too! Bedrooms, like the rest of the property are beautifully decorated with lovely comfortable beds! The en-suite wetrooms were both lovely!! Selina is fantastic, lovely lady to deal with and very helpful! The Welcome hamper was really appreciated & a great touch!! We wanted to go into Bath for the day, so instead of driving we walked 5 mins to Freshford station and within 1 stop and 10 mins we were in the centre! Bath itself is beautiful, so much to do and see! Twice we visited the local pub for dinner and it was amazing!! The food was delicious, fresh and well Cooked! Would definitely recommend the Rib eye! We could not fault our stay, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will certainly stay again.

Beautiful cottage
A few of us girls stayed here for the weekend for a little getaway and absolutely loved it. This home is just perfect and in such a stunning location. We didn't want to be in Bath itself as wanted somewhere quieter but getting to and from Bath was easy so we were happy. Selina and her partner are lovely and so welcoming. We had a little hamper of goodies on arrival and they just generally made us feel so welcome. They gave us a good recommendation of a pub down the hill called The Inn which we went to for lunch. The food was delicious and cured our hangovers. I would definitely come back to Freshford again and happily stay at Ivythorpe.

Romantic country cottage in idyllic village near Bath
Dear Selina, apologies that it took me 3 years to post a review! We absolutely love the cottage and the village of Freshford. Our relationship began during our first stay at Ivythorpe, and we were married 2 years later. The second stay was equally fantastic. What we most like: - Incredibly comfortable super-king master bed. Enjoy morning coffee with lovely views out to sheep grazing on the hillside, an ancient church and a beautiful valley. - High quality interior and fittings in every room. Great kitchen for foodies. Bathrooms are top spec. Heated floors and large sliding glass doors on ground floor that lead to the patio. - Only 10 minutes walk to the Freshford train stop, where we caught the local into Bath Spa station for just a few quid each return. - A very good local pub just 10 minutes walk away. - Excellent service from the owners who live close next door but also completely respect your privacy. - Off street parking for 2 cars. Highly recommended for a couples' getaway.

Lovely quaint cottage
A really lovely cottage, good facilities and a beautiful view from our bedroom window, a pleasure to wake up there. My daughter booked this for the weekend of her wedding in Bath. A beautiful home from home where we could relax and prepare for her big day. Would've liked to have stayed a bit longer...maybe we'll return some time. Would definitely recommend this place

Great comfortable stay
The owner Selina was very responsive and accommodating through the booking process as well as when we needed to contact her when our travel plans changed which in the drama of trying to rebook cancelled flights was a relief We got a taxi service from Bristol airport to Freshford, took just less than a hour. The house itself is a little off the road and down from the church, there is no signs so we were a little unsure that we were at the right place initially as it was dark, but we remembered the pictures from the website. As we arrived late the key was left in the key safe for us. Initially this was a little hard to find in the dark and I’m sure we looked very suspicious wondering around looking for something using the torches on our phones, so it might be worthwhile to clarify the location in advance The house was beautiful, exactly like the pictures. Kitchen and lounge area with slate flooring and under floor heating downstairs Kitchen has a microwave, fridge, dishwasher, cooker and oven. I would recommend some instructions on the oven as I didn’t recognise the symbols so at one point I think I was grilling garlic bread instead of baking it. I had to google the make of the oven. Other than that everything is very easy to use and dishcloths, washing up liquid, cleaning spray and tea towels are provided. The lounge area has 2 comfy sofas with a nest of tables that can be moved around. The flat screen TV has most of the Freeview channels although some were a little glitchy and there was also Netflix’s. The lounge also has lovely full length windows that can be opened up to give access to the outside area, although we couldn’t figure out how to open them and were afraid of breaking something. Wifi is available, password provided in the information booklet and worked very well for all of us Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms – twin room with ensuite and a double room with ensuite. The double room overlooks the church and road at the front and when the blind is up there is full visibility in, so would advise to dress with the blind down or in the ensuite. The beds and pillows were so comfy. There is also a little wardrobe with hairdryer. The ensuite is a wet room with a rain shower, toilet & sink. It’s quite compact with no space for toiletries around the sink, but there are shelves to your right above the toilet to put things on – towels are provided The church bells do ring out on the hour but only giving the time without any other fan fare so they aren’t annoying, although they did ring for about 5 mins at 10:22 on the Sunday morning There was a lovely welcome basket provided for us with breakfast provisions – bread, butter, milk, muesli, eggs – which was very appreciated as we arrived in so late. The information booklet gives the opening times of the village shop, but it closes at 12pm at the weekend. When we were in Bath we picked up some food & drink in the supermarket before getting the train back. The train station is a 5-7 min walk away, there is a timetable in the information book but it is out of date. It is only one stop to Bath (Bristol Mead train, don’t go over the tracks). There isn’t many street lights just be careful if walking back from the train station in the dark, bring a torch or use your phone as the road & paths are a little uneven The Inn – 5-7 mins away is a good place for a drink or to get some food, but it does get quite busy and it would be recommended to book if you want to eat There are lots of lovely walks around the area, but we were only there for such a short time that we didn’t explore them. Overall the house is beautiful and so comfortable, I would definitely be back to spend more time there and in the surrounding area

Stunning Property
Ivythorpe Coach House has been stunningly renovated - making the most of all of its original features - such a stylish and comfortable place to stay. We stayed with our teenage sons when visiting friends in Bath - great location for catching the train to Bath. Freshford is beautiful Lots of great pubs to visit in the area too. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic Stay
A lovely three day stay in the coach house. Comfortable, spotless and cozy accomadation in the most beautiful village. Really quiet and relaxing spot but so close to Bath and all it has to offer. Great welcome pack with high quality items, hand written note all made us feel welcome. Well equipped kitchen and nice to have Netflix available.
