We have stayed for four nights and overall enjoyed our stay. The Villa is pet friendly, also they have a small playing area for kids, and indoor activities. Housekeeping was friendly. Beach is 5 min by car. Area is quiet and perfect for rest.

Fantastic villa, wonderful island.
We were a party of 12 (6 adults and 6 young teens). The villa was perfect. Large terrace, pool, multiple balconies, etc. It is fantastically positioned at the highest point of the village of Lozisca with fantastic views over Bobavisca n/m and across the narrow channel to Solta. There is a small shop in the village, but the lack of a supermarket (and the position at the very top of the hillside) means a car is essential. Within a few minutes drive you can reach the coast at Bobavisca n/m, Milna, Sutivan and Splitska - all fantastic completely unspoilt and beautiful. We did stray as far as Bol and Zlatni Rat although somewhat more commercial - still tasteful. As regards eating out we would recommend Konoba Kopačina (Donji Humac) again beautifully situated and good value and Pizzeria Bracera (Sutivan). Finally, our host Andrea was really friendly and helpful - excellent.

A week of luxurious relaxation
I traveled in a large group of friends last summer to get some sun and relaxation. Villa Monica did just this and far far more! The villa itself is beautiful. I thought the images on the website looked too good to be true, but this was exactly what we arrived to. The bedrooms were spacious, beds comfy, air con and many clean great bathrooms. Everything is decorated to perfection. With two living rooms, a gym, sauna, pool, 3 outside seating areas there really is everything you need oh and the pool table! You can choose to dine inside (but with such great weather and views I don't know why you wo uld) or outside by the bbq, on the terrace with sunset views or by the pool. The pool was kept very clean and was a good size for swimming and games. Two bikes were also provided- we had a lovely cycle to Milna one day, which took a while but was worth it for the views. The villa is located on the hillside which isn't too steep but wouldn't be recommended to walk if you're not up to it (accessible by car though). We used local transport when we were there- mainly taxis which was easy enough but car rental would be advised if possible. It is set in a quiet, rural location- this modern villa is set amongst traditional Croatia. Horses used to wander into the front garden with bells on them and the church bells ring often- this could perhaps annoy light sleepers but I found the sound wonderful. The location wouldn't be recommended if you're wanting to be on the beach lots, or nights out. It is however great if you're wanting to relax in the peace and quiet and use transport to go to the popular beaches or near towns. We did walk down to the closest village which had a couple of restaurants which served lovely cheap food. The newsagent there had the basics but a bigger shop in Supetar would be recommended. Branko and the local woman were so helpful both in booking the villa and providing us with tips when we were there. No problems with deposit return. This was the most amazing villa I've stayed in and I would recommend for all- it has so much on offer to do just in the house you don't even need to stray if you don't want to. Hopefully I will be able to return back to this wonderful villa, hospitality and location.

Wonderful Holiday on Brac Island
Three Canadian families rented Villa Monica in Lozisca. This town is located halfway between Milna and Sutivan. The age of the kids ranged from 10 - 14. Overall, Villa Monica was excellent. During the hot Crotian summer, it was great to have air conditioning. This cannot be over-stated! The Villa itself is only a couple of years old so it has all of the modern amenities. It was fully stocked and prepared in all regards. The hi-lights were the views from the pool/deck area which over-looked (from a distant) the Adriatic Sea. Dinners from the deck/patio every night were a must. To be fair and balanced, there were a few things holding me back from giving this a 5-star rating. 1) the Villa is located in a town (Lozisca) which is the antithesis of "touristy". This is both a good and a bad thing. It was very old and quaint. Having said that, there was nothing there except a church and a tiny general store that sold over-priced tomatoes. 2) the Lozisca area endured a serious forest fire one month prior. All of the trees in the surrounding hills were either burnt to the ground or black. The hills in the area are not memorable - just lots of rocks. Many, many rocks. The rolling vineyards and olive tree groves of Tuscany it's not. 3) If you love the sun, heat and water, this is the place for you. Unfortunately neither my wife nor myself are sun worshippers so we couldn't escape the heat/sun - except inside the house with the A/C. 4) the drive to the Villa is nerve wracking. Europeans won't have any problems. North Americans - beware! In the end, no accidents or even car scratches. Just some close calls 5) there was the occassional bad stink due to the latrine tank needing to be pumped out. We called the owner, he dealt with it immediately. Stink gone. Great response by the owner The above are trivial things. You should definitely go and check out Brac and Croatia. The owner of the place (Branko) was great to deal with. He showed up and walked us through everything. However, don't pay to have an authetic home made meal at the Villa if Clementine is the chef. Unbeknownst to the Branko, the dinner she prepared was over-priced and mediocre tasting. Go to the local markets and prepare your own evening meals. Much better! Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Monica. The price was reasonable, the weather and nearby swimming was incredible and the wine was inexpensive! How do you beat that!

Owner response: Regarding point 2) – Fire in the area happened at the beginning of Summer in 2011 and it burned few visible hills with dry grass and part of the forest. During Autumn, Winter and Spring there is more rain and grass with bushes on surrounding hills gets green quickly. Trees that were burned are taken down so that grass, bushes and new trees can grow. Villa area and close surroundings were not touched by fire at all. Regarding point 4) – On Mediterranean islands and also coastal mainland it is common to have narrow roads with stone walls on the side as for centuries this was the tradition of building roads and fences around private land plots. It is the part of Mediterranean charm in certain way but for sure it is safe for driving with regular or standard driving skills. Those many rocks from Brac island are also quite famous as US White House and some other world buildings were built or decorated with it :)
