Excellent, well equipped accommodation in a beautiful area, with a forest and waterfalls right on the doorstep. Very friendly and helpful owner. Within short driving distance of all the tourist attractions for that region. Would certainly visit again.

We have had a great stay at Hazelwood. The cottage was very well equipped, clean and spacious. My husband loved the open fire in the lounge. The views from the cottage were amazing. We really enjoyed walking at nearby Glenariff Forest Park and viewing the lovely waterfalls. The cottage is in a great location for exploring the Causeway Coast.

Very nice and well equipt location - very warm reception by owner Patricia - bread butter coffee tea milk here for welcome - house fully equipt with everything needed and some more. Internet wifi speed and stove speed might increase a little 😎. Very quite and stunning natural surrunding ( waterfalls, hills, walking trielst).

I can only endorse the other reviews, this is a terrific property in a stunning location. It took me ages to unpack when I arrived because I couldn't take my eyes off the scenery! The cottage is spacious and well equipped and a good base for travelling to the northern attractions such as the Giants Causeway and Belfast to the south which are around about an hours drive. We stayed during the Heart of the Glen festival in nearby Cushendall which was good fun. The Antrim coastal drive is a terrific experience with great views and for those in the UK who haven't been to Northern Ireland you should go for it. The weather was a bit temperamental and maybe that's the only downside when comparing this holiday against traditional English South coast or South Wales options. However, there is something rather unspoiled about NI that is endearing and to be enjoyed before it gets discovered by the masses.

Hazelwood is in an idyllic location on the edge of the Glenariff Forest park. The property itself was spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything you would need. There was a welcome pack which included tea, coffee, jams and bread and there was milk in fridge. Mrs O'Boyle had even left us some home baked scones. If you didn't want to cook, Larach Lodge was 2mins down the road, The food there was delicious and the staff attentive. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit this beautiful area of Northern Ireland.

This had everything we needed and with well stocked kitchen and accommodation. The only problem we had was with the internet but Patricia was very accommodating to allow us to come to her home down the road to check our email once a day, until it was repaired.

Hazelwood is simply fantastic; spacious yet cosy, clean, v comfy beds, log fire, exceptionally equipped dining kitchen. Our children were thrilled to see sheep peering at them when they opened their bedroom curtains. We were thrilled to open ours to the most fabulous view! We lucked out with mostly sun and pleasant snow showers. Glenariffe waterfall walks on the doorstep and great menu at Laragh Lodge, a minutes walk away! NI is "home" to me but driving back the coast road to Scotland it was lovely to have a reminder as to how stunning it is. So beautiful, so peaceful. Patricia is a wonderful host (thanks so much again for letting my parents stay over when the snow thwarted the drive home!). We can't wait to return when your very busy calendar allows it! X

We stayed at Hazelwood in the middle of the winter. The location, but also the cottage itself, exceeded our expectations. Owners, who live nearby, could not have been more helpful. Everything was very spacious, clean and in mint condition; nothing that we needed was missing. In other words a long weekend we will not easily forget. We will certainly come back! Thank you Patricia & Joe

About the neighbourhood
Glenariff A fine introduction to Ireland is the coast road from Belfast to the Glens of Antrim and Glenariff, the Queen of the Glens. This is the largest and most beautiful of the Nine Glens and was scooped out by ice to form one of the finest examples of a glacial u-shaped valley. The glen is bounded by rugged precipices 200 metres to 400 metres in height, the most famous being Carneil and Lurigethan. The latter is a favourite of ramblers, rewarded by breathtaking views from its summit. For the less energetic walker a section of the Ulster Way begins in Waterfoot and leads to a quiet path along the Ariff River. At Glenariff Forest, walkers can follow the Moyle Way to Ballycastle. In the Forest Park is a designated National Nature Reserve which contains impressive and evocatively n...
