Interaction with guestsWhat to do at Ballymacdoe Cottage? 1. Find out about events: When you first arrive at the cottage check out the events that will be taking place in the village during the week of your stay. To do this visit Kearney’s butchers shop at Mill Street. In the window of the shop events are advertised. Also ask the butcher for more details. Visit the Cushendall development office at the top end of Mill street they will have more information. 2. Fishing: Limerick Point About 200 metres from the cottage is a small pier to fish from but most people fish off the rocks to the left. This place gets busy in winter so best to get down early. There is a reef about 150 metres offshore so best not to over cast. This location is very good for codling in w

Ballymacdoe cottage is affordable accomodation in a quaint coastal Irish village, we were meeting with relatives and needed somewhere central to stay. The cottage had good sized rooms and modern decor. The washing machine was great and a very quick tumble dryer as we had accumulated a lot of washing. In a quiet residential area but minutes from the sea front. Gerard and Catriona very welcoming and were very helpful , plenty space for 4 to 6 people and a pleasant living room and dining area. Garden and BBQ for the summer months.Would certainly recommend.

We stayed here for a family weekend. Owner Gerard was very flexible and allowed us to bring a dog. It is a comfortable cottage, with a cosy fire and big back garden, perfect for BBQs. The location is ideal, 5 minutes walk to the beach and 10minute to one of the best pubs in Ireland, Johnny Joe's, that regularly has traditional irish music live. Also good base to explore the amazing Glens of Antrim and the north coast.
