Perfect countryside retreat
Beautiful house with countryside and canal walks on doorstep. Had everything we could possibly need and we felt quite at home. Would definitely stay again. We were 2 couples and there was plenty of space, well provided kitchen, comfortable beds and good bathrooms

Delightful Spacious Comfortable Cottage
Quiet location with some lovely walks nearby. The cottage was comfortable with excellent facilities. We were delighted on arrival to see that The Host had kindly decorated the cottage for our Christmas stay, including a fully decorated Christmas Tree, and provided a complementary box of biscuits and some chocolates. The kitchen very well equipped, with a really outstanding selection of store cupboard items. The bedrooms and the lounge were really spacious. Communication with host was good, we felt well looked after. We had a really warm, comfortable and relaxing stay. The nearby New Inn did lovely food and was warm and a welcoming atmosphere. GA

Fabulous stay!
Beautiful cottage in a lovely village. Convenient location, 20-25 min walk to the train station to get the short train to Bath and around 45 min walk to Bradford-on-avon, so we didn't need to use our car whilst we were there! Some lovely running (we did the two valleys walk as a run) and had a lovely breakfast at the No10 Tea Garden near Avoncliffe station. The cottage is very well kitted out with everything you might need! Nigel the owner was super helpful with lots of recommendations! We really enjoyed our stay!

NEVER AGAIN DISGUSTED AND DISAPPOINTED
Arrived after a 5 hour drive to find the cottage filthy at 2.30 pm Kitchen filthy bread crumbs everywhere Bread bin full ( we had informed owners that a severe coeliac was staying. They assured us that was no problem and the cottage would be ready) tea stains everywhere/dirty sink, table worktop, cupboard doors /dishwasher full with dirty dishes / Bin full and stinking, floor stains and hairy Bathroom and shower room dirty towels still hanging up Mirrors splattered, bath with dead spider and hair in it Bins full Bedrooms, beds not remade still with dirty sheets, you could actually see where the last visitors had slept We rang owners at Approx 2.40 pm who informed me that there had been mis communication between them and the cleaner and she would arrive in half an hour and we would need to leave the premises while she cleaned After more phone calls and a text message it was an hour later 3.50 approx The owners offered to pay for a meal at the local pub but that was closed and the pub 15 minute drive away could not feed us re coeliac Arrived back at cottage at 7.30 pm Cleaner still cleaning she eft at 8.30 pm There was no cleaning equipment at the cottage ie antibacterial wipes or sprays No toilet roll or cleaning solution for the toilets The owners made their apologies and gave us a partial refund. They kept there booking fee so they were not out of pocket We returned home early as this had totally ruined our holiday We will NEVER return to this cottage

We were really sorry to read of our guests' poor experience at the cottage. The problem was our fault due due a mix up with the housekeeper as to the date she needed to have the cottage prepared for. We were understandably shocked when the guest phoned us to tell us about the state of the cottage. We immediately contacted the housekeeper to ask her if she would remedy this. She was at the cottage within 90 minutes and had it cleaned to a very high standard within 3 hours (the usual cleanliness of the cottage can be determined from previous reviews). We informed the guests that she was on her way and suggested that in the meantime they may wish to go for a meal rather than waiting, and that we would pay for this. We also offered and gave a full refund of the rental charge (we don’t receive the booking fee and so could not refund this). The guests were highly inconvenienced for a period of four hours and in compensation received a virtually free stay. Unfortunately they were determined to make the worst of the situation and left early. This is our worst review in over 150 bookings and obviously have taken steps to ensure it does not happen again.

Third time - just as good.
Love this place - third time we’ve stayed now and just gets better…and this time with family pet who seemed very happy too. Didn’t go into Bath this time - just did a lot of walking around locally…and good food in The Inn and Ravellos in Bradford on Avon. Lovely cottage, thanks again Nigel for this brilliant place.

Perfect house, perfect location
We arrived on a very cold Friday evening. House was spotless with loads of home comforts. The provision of a coffee Moka pot was really welcome. Top tip call in at the farm shop at Farleigh Farm just on main A36 really lovely prepared meals, and puddings for your first night. Also milk butter bread veg etc. Back to the House, whilst it was cold when we arrived central heating really did the job and kept us really war. Beds are really comfortable and rooms have really effective Roman Blinds. Absolutely loved our stay loads of information and Nigel was exceptionally good with answering questions. If you fancy day in Bath, Bradford on Avon railway station is about 2 miles away, cost £7.00 open day return and takes 15 minutes. Canal walks are wonderful and so many great places to eat. Thanks Nigel!
